Saved my favorite winter boots!
This glue is incredible—it has "super double" strength! I used it to replace the entire sole of my winter boots after several professional shoe repair shops refused to take on the job. It was a great DIY experience, and I basically have a brand-new pair of shoes now. I’ve been wearing them for over 6 months in winter conditions and have had zero issues. Highly recommended for tough repairs!

Amazingly strong sticky stuff
The Stormsure flexible repair adhesive in this medium size 15gm tube is ideal for slightly bigger repairs such as a pair of walking shoes with detached soles. I always keep some in stock. Make sure the surfaces to be bonded are clean, dry, free from grease and dust, and a good snug fit. The glue has a reasonable working time of a couple of hours, so no panic about aligning a join, but the converse to this is that one needs to arrange a means of holding the join in position. “Fast!” can mean waiting 24 to 48 hours for full strength, depending on humidity and temperature. It also tends to spread around while unobserved, so the restraints securing the pieces might also become bonded to the work! Be aware, once the seal is broken on a tube the contents will set in a few weeks regardless of closing the top. As an example of how far it goes, one of the three small 5gm tubes has fixed several recent problems including: . A split end on my Ryobi leaf blower. . Securing the aged flush-bellows on a couple of cisterns so they responded properly to the pneumatic button push . Securing the bumper strip on a vacuum cleaner . Sealing and locking a reversing camera's mounting bracket nuts and camera lead to a fitting on the car.

An Ultra Strong Glue - Avoid a Del Boy & Rodney Trotter Moment Getting Your Hands Stuck Together!
Since this is a long review, it has been structured into five sections to enable the reader to access what may be most important to them. Paragraph one highlights what I used the glue for. Two covers safety and a mistake I made when I urgently needed to use super glue remover. Three & four highlights how long the hardening/curing process takes and the last paragraph five, answers the question does it work? 1). The Type of Repair Made: I Purchased a 15 gram tube of 'Stormsure Flexible Repair Adhesive CLEAR' to repair the soles of a pair of Grub Wellys that had sprung leaks. Before the leaks occurred I thought the soles were solid but discovered they are air cushioned with supporting grid ridges underneath to seal the air in, which explained the unusual comfort of these wellys. 2). Safety & A Big Do: First some advise on using the product wisely, since the instructions are insufficient & lacking in this respect (this is why I have deducted a star from the rating). Do nevertheless read the 'Danger' safety warning in small print on the reverse of the instructions, written in fourteen languages. They are easy to miss or neglect. And avoid Del Boy and Rodney Plonker Moments from 'Only Fools and Horses': When I managed to get the glue on my fingers by accident - something I thought wouldn't happen with the type of repair I was making - I discovered it is impossible to remove with water, soap and alcohol; no matter how hard you scrub and it is incredibly tacky/strong. In this sense, think of it as super glue. Like super glue it contains isocyanates and I literally had to use 'super glue remover' to sucessfully remove it from my skin; nothing else worked. It would be rather embarassing if you had to call the emergency services out because your hands got stuck to the garage door or worse, the toilet seat. There's more than one reason the product is called Stormsure! This is what they don't tell you in the instructions. The box contained a disposable pair of ultra thin gloves wrapped in a flat packet smaller than a match box and no plastic glue spreader. Better quality gloves than supplied are preferable and use ones you don't mind disposing afterwards. The advert on the box - most likely inspired by the marketing department - stated, "FREE GLOVES inc." Wow was my jaw dropping response; I was almost left speechless. They are the kind of thing I used to see in Christmas Crackers when I was a child. 3). The Repair Process: If you look at the repaired soles in the photographs, I had to use a knife to prize open the split edges of the affected treads that were leaking, while squeezing glue into the air gap underneath until it was full; making sure the tread was completely surrounded by more glue (don't use your partner's kitchen knife if you want to live). For this repair I used approximately half the 15 gram tube. Once the glue has been opened it is necessary to make sure no air is left in the tube by squeezing the glue to the top, while immediately screwing the lid on firmly. This is because air and moisure cures and eventually hardens the glue over time. It is necessary to place the remaining glue in a freezer, which keeps it in a liquid state and stops it from solidifying. I made sure I placed the opened tube in a sealed plastic bag to keep it away from frozen foods. 4). How Long Does it Take to Dry/Harden? That's like asking how long is a piece of string? The short answer; it dependents what you are using it for and the room or garage temperature at the time of the repair. The colder the temperature the longer it takes to cure and harden. I made the repair to my boots in the summer when I didn't need them and inserted the legs of the boots behind a cold radiator as a prop; allowing the soles to remain in an upright position. The glue is viscous but it does run nevertheless. If two surfaces are stuck together the chances are only a thin layer of glue will need to be applied, since the instructions state 'Assemble immediately. Press strongly and immobilize for at least 10 - 12 hours.' However, because I used a large quantity the curing and hardening process took much longer. Even after 4 days the glue had not fully hardened. Not needing the boots I left them on a cold radiator for around three to four weeks. After this time I noticed the flexible glue had become very firm while maintaining flexibility. 5) The Million Dollar Question: Does it work? At the time of this review drought conditions were occurring in England after a exceptionally dry spring and water authorities were having to introduce restrictions in early June. When it rains in the South I will have the chance to test the repair; so there will be an update coming later. All I can say at the moment - by looking at and feeling the set glue - is I don't think you will find anything better for the repair of Welly soles. I am hoping it will work because Grub boots are expensive to replace. However if the repair only works for a short period under normal and reasonable conditions, i.e. not climbing mountains in them, I will lower my rating significantly. In the meantime I remain optimistic. Now have a glass of wine after reading this long review; you deserve it.

Tough and durable waterproof sealant
Great glue/sealant for boots or wellies. Takes 24 hrs to dry properly but worth the wait. Sealed wellies along the foot crease and still waterproof one year on.

First time was to reattach a rubber sole that had come away from an otherwise perfectly good shoe. I cleaned off any loose dirt
I've used this twice so far. First time was to reattach a rubber sole that had come away from an otherwise perfectly good shoe. I cleaned off any loose dirt, gave it a light scrub with a brush and soap, waited for it to dry overnight, applied the glue and but a heavy book on it for another day. Second one was to repair a pair of expensive wellies that had two splits along the seams and was leaking. Again, cleaned it. put on some rubbing alcohol then took an rough piece of sandpaper to roughen the surface, cleaned it again and let it dry. Applied a thin layer covering up to half a cm around the splits and let it dry for a few days. The adhesive is well stuck on, flexible and the wellies are now waterproof. All in all, a very esay process. Update: 3 month update: 1) Sole still stuck on tight 2) Wellies still waterproof. I'll continue to update it

Decent when it worked but only got one use of out it.
Used this once and yeah it was decent but now, 2 months later, the tube is completely solid and so good for nothing. A very expensive single use product.
