Excellent piece of fish tank gear....and even better customer service
So this review might be a little lengthy, but there are quite a number of little experiences that happened with this purchase. First off...the gear. EXTREMELY quiet and powerful. Easy to install. Simply attach the suction attachment to the WAVEMAKER, place it into your tank and plug it in. Keeps the water circulating and oxygenated. So, from my point of view, something must have happened in transit when I first acquired these a little over a month or so ago. I had purchased two of them for my two, 100 gallon fresh water fish tanks. When they came in the first time and I plugged them in, they were shaking, rattling and clearly defective. Mind you, I had read all of the reviews and seen such high customer satisfaction ratings on this gear and this company, so I was a little baffled as to why my Wavemakers were making so much noise and struggling to operate properly. After fidgeting with them for a couple of weeks, my return window closed at Amazon, and needless to say, had surrendered to the fact that I was stuck with defective, broken equipment that I paid 40 bucks for. Subsequently, when asked to post a review about the product, it was not very positive in my verbiage and I relayed my frustration and dissatisfaction with the product. To my pleasant surprise, the vendor reached out to me through Amazon chats and was very adamant about wanting to rectify the problem and make things right. I was a little skeptical at first, but they were indeed very genuine in wanting to help me resolve this issue and stand by their product. In the end, they sent me two new pumps that are working quite nicely and are what I was looking for. AQQA is a great company with great products, and have their customer satisfaction as their top priority. which is truly a breath a fresh air to see in the online shopping world. TOP MARKS ALL AROUND!

Small and powerful
Strong for how small it is. My moss balls keep getting suctioned into it but it works great!

Needs to be cleaned regularly
Was good, I thought it broke for a little but I found out you just need to regularly clean it, it comes apart easy so u just need to clear the junk, tiny amount can stop the motor from going, nice and strong for my 10 gal

Everything described but....
This wave maker was exactly as described. Low noise, strong suction, powerful current & a good all around product. I got the 3 watt motor & it was just way more powerful than I was looking for though. I've got a 20gal tank & I was just looking for a light easy current to keep things circulating & keep my floating plants away from the filter. This thing was like a typhoon in my tank. My fish were having a helluva time just swimming. I need something with a step down setting I think. You may too if you're like me.

Does what it's meant to do
Using this as a water agitator in my 10g salt water sump/refugium system with Chaeto. Size is perfect for my needs but more powerful than what I prefer so I did what the other reviewer recommended. Wrapped the power head with a piece of filter foam to tame the flow and it works! As a bonus it also catches unwanted little Chaeto pieces floating around the sump. Can't hear the motor with all the other equipment noise in my system. Suction strength is just right for the power and size. Connected it to a timer synced to turn on when the Chaeto light comes on. What more can you ask for at this price? Only question is durability. I'll be happy if it lasts even half the life of the other power heads in my display tank.

Returned 5 watt model as its too noisy, I am going to continue using the 3 watt model.
Love the product and construction, however it was very noisy and it is marketed as quiet. I have 2 filters on the tank and a "wave maker" "circulator. The two filters whisper quiet, this product you could hear making noise 10 feet from the tank. It's ironic because I bought this more powerful 5 watt model to replace the 3 watt model I have from this same company. The 3 watt whisper quiet and fantastic reliable. Bottom line? I am returning the 5 watt model and putting the 3 watt model back in the tank.

Very nice, but too powerful.
I tried buying the lowest watt one I could find because i just want a gentle flow in the tank, but nope. I have a 40 gallon tank & it's too strong for my tank. I don't feel like taking a video to show how powerful it is, but if you're looking for a gentle flow is a tank size like mine this isn't the one. However, a great choice for a much larger tank of you are just looking for a little flow.

Has been a fantastic addition to my tank. It’s affordable, effective, and energy-efficient, making it perfect for smaller to medium-sized aquariums. If you're looking for a way to improve water movement and create a more natural, healthy environment for your fish, this is an excellent choice. Pros: Quiet operation Adjustable flow direction Energy-efficient (3W) Easy to install and secure Effective for smaller to medium-sized tanks Great build quality Cons: May not be powerful enough for larger tanks (this is a 3W model, so best for smaller aquariums)

I bought a 15 watt for my 90 gallon and it was too powerfull! Was uprooting plants and even blew the gavel. Had to return it for a 5 watt.

Small, compact powerful little thing. Works great in my 30 gallon tank. My guess is it could potentially work for bigger tanks than suggested

Honestly, I don’t recommend this product. I bought two, and both had issues. One lasted less than a month before the suction cup stopped sticking to the tank and kept falling off. The suction cup design itself seems unreliable. The second unit’s suction cup is fine, but now the motor makes a very loud noise when starting up. Based on my experience, the quality is inconsistent and not worth the trouble.
