Great item
I bought this over 3 years ago because I have a disability and I have trouble reaching to pick things off the floor. I still use it today - it hasn't broken in that time or lost any of its usefulness. It's sturdy and convenient. So happy with it. Definitely a recommended purchase for anyone who needs something like this. It is very useful for picking up things like paper, any small or light items that can be grabbed onto easily. It is not ideal for lifting things like a large coffee jar for example that would maybe be too heavy or difficult to grab onto. If you're looking for something that can pick up letters in your hallway or something light that you've dropped on the floor like a small piece of clothing then this is perfect.

Reach that extra distance...
I have a fondness for NRS Healthcare, now no longer in business. They provided & serviced my electric bed. Their grabber multifunctional & the longer one great. I use it for all sorts of situations. Magnetic, sock & shoe aid. Have one in my bedroom & one in my living room & gifted my daughter-in-law one for her bedroom. All bases covered. Great 👍

Ease of use, pretty robust
Great gadget! Lightweight and seems powerful enough for its intended purpose of picking things up without much effort on my part. I have Arthritis in both knees and one shoulder & generally stiff all over. Having this beside me when I do a bit of craft work, Knitting/Sewing or even when working from home; which I do is a must now. Robust worth buying. Magnet tiny but adequate. I can even pick up after the grandkids when they go! Toys back in the box even colouring pens & pencils picked up with ease, no more struggle now. The dog gave it a good inspection, heaven knows what he thinks of it 🤔 The packaging Amazon used could be looked at. Huge box. I recycle but some folks don’t or can’t so an issue there. I know they do try, and they want items delivered safely but a long narrow box perhaps? Now if it could only take the dog for a walk 😉

Sturdy and strong, but lightweight and easy grip
Does it do the job? - Yes - This has a very strong grab mechanism that will easily grab, hold and pull/push desired items. Is this well designed and good quality? - Yes - The build is very sturdy and robust. Even at it's maximum 81 cm (32 inch) reach, the combi-reacher is a sturdy as when it is at its shortest length, with no noticeable wobble. - Despite its sturdy build, the item is very lightweight, with the balance of the items weight in the handle, rather than along its length or in the grabber itself. - Changing the length is easy and seamless, with little effort needed. - Rubber coverings on grabber that come into contact with picked up items work to prevent items slipping out of grabber, whilst protecting the items it holds. Would I buy this item again, or recommend to a friend? - Yes - The combi-reacher has many uses, for people old and young. Although this is used for dragging curtains that cannot be reached easily, I would suggest this might be especially useful to those with limited mobility who cannot reach, back pain, or anyone with poor grip strength.

Not for me
This product was not for me. This was due to my particular level of disability. Rather than returning the products (I purchased 2), I donated them to a particular charity where they made use of both products. The product was well made for an economy reacher. I have a mixture of premium and economy reachers in different parts of the home and the car. For me the premium brand is "Helping Hands" and their particular reacher. However, with an entry RRP of £14 upwards, premium has to be complemented with economy. I am not sure whom these reachers would suit (a) active with a temporary or mild incapacity or indeed active aged or (b) ambulant or wheelchair user.
