We recently had a mold issue in a closet, so decided to fog the entire house, as mold spores had traveled to other rooms (which was documented by petri dishes placed in a few spots outside the closet). The instructions that came with the fogger kit very specifically said to deactivate any smoke alarms tied in with an alarm system. Some of our smoke detectors are generic, so we could just remove the batteries, but the 4 fire alarms connected in our alarm system would have been alarming once we started fogging. So, our alarm company told us about these little "shower caps' to cover the smoke alarm unit up. I guess they are also recommended for when you are painting, cooking something that creates smoke, etc. These are very cute, were reasonably priced, and did an excellent job. We had no visits from the fire department on the day we fogged the house :)

I got these because we cook a lot and sometimes we set our smoke alarm off. To avoid this situation and fire department coming , we cover our smoke alarm detector until cooking is done. They worked perfectly, are easy to install and take off. They are soft plastic with a good elastic at the edge. They fit 3, to 5 inches wide smoke alarm Definitely recommend them

No more false alarms when cooking. I can use all my cooking appliances to their full capacity. What a relief!

Easy to use so smoke detector doesn't go off when cookinf

We bought these for our camper. When we cook the smoke alarm goes off. It’s a little too close to the stove. When we are cooking we just cover the detector up and it no longer goes off then just uncover when done. Super easy!

Well made and package solution to cover commercial alarms

They definitely work. My new rental home has super sensitive smoke alarms 3 of them near the kitchen and every single thing I use like the oven, stove top, and air fryer, they would go off and drive me nuts even with microwave vent and a fan blowing the smoke. These fixed my issue. Now I enjoy cooking again! Now I do wish they had other color options because orange is not pretty to see on the ceiling.

These smoke detectors worked fine for a total of 30 seconds before it set off every single fire alarm and smoke detector in the house I was staying at because of how poorly it was made. We tripled checked to make sure they were put on properly and they still did NOT cover it well enough to keep the mist from our fog machine out as it was advertised to do and it served little to no purpose whatsoever. Complete waste of money.
