Metformin was becoming ineffective after 17 years, and my doctor said I could add this to my medications/supplements. I was amazed with the results. It helped drop my readings 20 to 30 points and more 2 hours after meals. I take one with lunch and dinner, along with my Metformin. I usually don't eat much for breakfast, but if I do, I'll take one then too. Before I started this, I had made a conscious effort to cut back on carbs, as I could see the writing on the wall. My days of being lackadaisical with carb eating was over. But even with reducing carbs, I was still having readings that were too high. My A1C which had been stuck in the low 7's for 7 years, had went up to 7.5. My recent test was 6.8, a nine year low for me. I contribute both the reduced carbs and this supplement with helping me drop my A1C 10%. My doctor was impressed! I try to exercise or do something like house cleaning to move around after eating. But if I'm stuck at the computer, with this supplement, I will still have good readings in the low 150's 2 hours after eating. The only negative is that it tastes awful, so plan on swallowing fast; however, for me there is no aftertaste. Everyone is different, but for me this has been a miracle. That being said, my lower A1C reading still required exercise and watching carbs. As with any supplement, you should check with your doctor first. Update December 2018; this is still helping me with my sugar readings and I won’t go without it. And after being stuck at the same weight level for three years, I’ve lost 30#. No proof this supplement is the reason, but I think it has helped. Update October 2019; this continues to help me have decent sugar readings and I still don’t notice any side effects. I highly recommend asking your doctor about this supplement.

I am not being paid for this review and I paid for this product because of other reviews. I just started taking GS a few days ago to try to curb my sugar cravings and amazingly it is working. Sugars do not taste bad to me but I really just don’t think about them. Last week I bought all of the candy, this week it’s just sitting there. This is willpower support for me and I really appreciate it too!! I didn’t do this to lower my BS although it couldn’t hurt as I am getting a bit older (43 in 10/2023) and as things slow down, lab values tend to rise in very bad ways. I may edit with more if anything else occurs but just the fact that I want less sugar after three days is worth writing about to help inform decisions. Like if this helps and I’ll speak up more.

As someone who is well into their senior years, I have been diagnosed with Diabetes for more than a decade. Even though I take doctor prescribed medication for this problem, I also take several supplements to support better blood glucose readings. After reading the many positive reviews I decided to try it and purchased a bottle. I have just begun taking this Gynnema Sylvestre once a day with meals and I am pleased thus far with my purchase. It's a common problem for Type 2 diabetics. The after meal spike. Keeping your blood sugar levels flat lined at a decent rating is almost as important as keeping it low. I take one of these with lunch and one with supper. It greatly reduces the post meal spike. I almost hate to leave this review as I hate giving advice on medical conditions. I'm just expressing what happened for me. I did my research and thought I would try it and evaluate my results, good or bad. It works great for me but you must do your own research and keep meticulous recordings of your results under as identical conditions as possible. The after meal spikes were my biggest obstacle in all around treatment. Probably more so than others. My spikes were huge. Yes I eat and drink exactly like a Dr. would want me to. I'm just reporting how it has been a great help for me. If you are on pharmaceuticals for your diabetes please make sure to consult your doctor. This is just an Amazon review.

This supplement's composition has been changed in a negative way. It previously contained GS4 PLUS (which a product picture still erroneously shows). It now contains an unlabeled extract blend which also contains maltodextrin, essentially diluting the extract.

FIRST OFF: I'm NOT being paid for this review! My review is of my own accord - mainly to help others. I am a scientist of 35 years, 10 of them in pharmaceutical R&D. My wife and I started taking this product about 9 months ago. We both had our bloodwork completed by our doctors about 3 months before we started taking this specific brand of Gymnema. Both of us used 1 capsule/day in the evening before bed. I am diabetic (T2) and my wife has been fighting extremely high triglycerides and was out on a few other data blood concentration data points. With no changes to our diet/exercise/medicine over the test. My A1C went from 6.8 to 6.5. My wife's triglycerides went from 800 to 180 and the rest of her tests improved as well. The results speak for themselves! GREAT PRODUCT!!

Highly effective product from Now Foods, as it contains standardized GS4, the active ingredient that is capable of reversing DM type 2, as well as helpful in controlling DM type 1. Highly recommended.
