Ease of Assembly: ***** Sturdiness: **** Durability: ***** I gave this five stars for everything but sturdiness, but will explain why in a moment. First, it's packaged very securely and efficiently. I would advise keeping that packaging (at least the inner part) so the surface won't get scratched when you store it. The material, as others have noted, appears to be some sort of composite, like MDF/HDF, markerboard or similar. It's very strong. Also, it's accurately cut, with the routed/laser-cut accents perfectly smooth, and they really "make" the display: it's just as gorgeous during the daytime as it is spotlighted at night. When I opened the package, my initial thought was, "Uh-oh, this is a little smaller than I had anticipated." The dimensions are exactly what Teak Isle says they are -- 46" at the top of the star. But once I assembled it, I found the size to be just right, actually. You can see the size of my front yard; for a very large area, you might want the next size up. Assembly and setup took me a total of 20 minutes, working alone. When I store it, I'll leave the U-brackets in place, and reduce setup time next year to about 5 minutes. It really is that easy. The only reason I gave "Sturdiness" four stars rather than five is, the aluminum rods might be a bit short for sandy soil like we have here in Florida. For loamy soil, they're certainly long enough to withstand anything short of storm-force winds. I should note that thus far (it's been up for a week now), this has only required one small readjustment because of some light winds we had. The plastic U-brackets seem to be adequate. It's worth every penny. Next year, I'll order additional figures that Teak Isle offers -- Wise Men, shepherds, etc. and just expand my existing display.

I have been wanting a nativity scene for several years. This one is just what I had hoped for. It is made of material that should stand up to our harsh weather in this area. The scene is easy to put together and looks great. We placed it in front of a green shrub, put a spotlight on the nativity scene and it make a nice depiction of what the Christmas season is all about. I am very happy with the fast shipping and quality of the product.

The nativity is composed of durable 1/2 inch thick marine grade PVC. It is NOT, NOT, NOT made of wood so it should last for many years. It can be washed to remove any dirt or staining so painting should never be considered. What appears to be black shading lines are actually cut completely through the PVC. Other plain white displays with no shading appear washed out, but the shading on this one almost brings it to life. We placed it close to the curb with two LED spotlights a few feet in front. We normally remove all leaves from the lawn but this year we scattered some immediately around the display and hope wind doesn't blow them away! The green grass and the dark leaves create a nice contrast to make the plain white nativity stand out. Celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ was our main purpose so there is nothing else in the yard to detract. He is the Light of the World. Even with the little plastic fixtures attached to the back of the boards, we were able to put everything in the original box. That makes storing it away very easy and convenient.

I wanted an outdoor Nativity scene that would be attractive both during the day and at night. This does look very nice in the daylight and with a spotlight at night. However, there are 2 items in the product description that are incorrect. Had I known these things before purchasing this item, I would have chosen a different product. One reason I chose this item was because the product description states, "NO HASSLE 5 MINUTE ASSEMBLY: A simple and easy one person assembly job, this set assembles in minutes with a few bolts and wing nuts." It was NOT a 5 minute assembly and did not come with bolts and wing nuts. It came with screws. I was hoping to be able to easily disassemble it for storage, however this will NOT be possible as the screws will not withstand repeated use. It took me 30 minutes to put it together and I will NOT be able to disassemble it for storage. The product description also stated, "PROUDLY MADE IN THE USA This meaningful family keepsake is built in the USA by American workers. Designed out of necessity during the recession, our Nativity Sets help keep employees busy during the marine industry's slower winter months. A feel good story for a feel good product." This statement in the product description was the main reason that I chose this product over other similar products that were available. I was shocked to see that this product was made in China and NOT in the USA.

Great quality, sturdy, easy to set up. I love that the star lights up over the manger. I've already gotten compliments!

I cannot express how beautiful this nativity scene is! With the line cut outs throughout Mary & Joseph, it makes it more realistic and sturdy when the wind blows so the wind goes through the holes so it's not easy to knock down. I love that the set is easily assembled all in one except Baby Jesus so you can wait till Christmas day to add Him while most other sets already have Him attached to their scene. The set is a wonderful gift to your family and a reminder for those that pass by and see it the true reason for the season among all the twinkling lights of Christmas.

This looks much nicer in front of our house than it did in the photo here. It's very simple in design, but that's really what makes it look classy. Glad my husband had tools, though, because putting it together by hand would have taken quite a while otherwise.
