I've had so many lame phone holders over the years, lol. This one is a pleasant surprise. It came with the tool to pop the trim piece up and slide on the mount part. Probably a little scary if you have never done anything like that before, but it will be fine. Just pop off the edge, not the whole piece. Take your time and don't bend the plastic trim out too far, you don't want to break it. (Honestly, it likely wouldn't break, it would just pull off the rest of the way down.) Once the trim piece is pulled up a bit, slide the mount onto the trim from the edge. Its temping to try to snap it on, but its better to just slide it on from the side. That way, there is no force required so nothing is going to scratch or crack. Its a bit fiddly, but it will slide onto the trim piece. Then just smack the trim piece back into place. As for the holder itself, it can be operated with one hand. Squeeze the side bars and it locks open. Put the phone in the holder and push it back. There is a button on the holder behind the phone and when the phone pushes against the button, it causes the holder to snap closed and holds tight. Works wonderfully.

I have a Samsung S23 Ultra, and I had to send back the previous holder because the dimensions were inaccurate and was not big enough to the phone with a case. Not the case with this holder. There isn't a lot of room to spare, but I can easily get the phone+case in and out without any issues. The installation requires a little effort. You have to pry up some of the molding on the dash (it includes a little lever) to fit it in. Not ideal, but I haven't found a better alternative for the RAV4. It is plenty sturdy, my heavy phone stays put even over bumps. I like the spring-loaded grad-and-release design a lot better than the gravity type I had previously. I researched a lot of holders for the RAV4, and if you don't want stickers, magnets, suction cups, or to lose a vent, this is the best one out there

I have a 2015 F-150 SuperCrew... This is one of the best phone holders that I have ever had! Don't get me wrong, i have only had it for a week, but if it lasts 6 months, I will be happy and buy another one for a couple reasons; 1) The fitment on the air vent frame is like a glove, it actually stays in place without even using the double-sided mounting tape... but i still used the tape for added strength 2) I love the position and location that it's made for right above the vent. It's not too high to block my vision, but high enough to glance at your phone map while keeping my eyes on the road. 3) I love the action of how it opens and closes to secure my phone. It fits my large phone with large case

Mount fits securely on my Bimmer X3. While I’m not fan of blocking the hazard button this is a great option to not impede the screen or any controls, or where I don’t have to use double sided tape on anything in my vehicle. The cradle sits tight and there’s no rattle. Where my only issue us that the cradle itself doesn’t have an adjustable bottom. My iPhone 13 fits but when closed, the right side of the cradle pushes against the side action button in my phone activating the “hold for emergency call” feature on the phone. Would give this a better rating if the cradle had some ability to be adjusted for various cases / phones - it’s truly not a one size fits all thing. Currently seeking a fix so I can use this w/o getting a welfare check call from law enforcement…

I was so excited to try this on my Rav4 2015. Man I was so disappointed!!! I was looking at other videos how to install and booooom!!! Pieces every where flying and broken!!! Don't buy stuff like this that requires extra work. I mean I was supposed to just open, adjust and use it. Just get the normal stuff that you know and what you've been using in the past if you have. 😭😭😭😭 Now I have to spend money buying another of the piece I broke and buy a new phone mount. Aaaaaaagg!!! P.s. don't worry I am fine.

Only phone holder that works on a 2013 Rav 4. Instructions were easy to follow and it didn't damage the plastic.

I've very pleased with this holder. When you put the phone in, the clamp arms grab it tight. A squeeze on the release lever pops the phone out. The mount fit my car perfectly. This is a good value for the money.
