Tripled my wifi speed. Fantastic.
Got BT Full Fibre 900 and got this to replace my BT SH2. My BT hub was getting 1.1Ghps via Ethernet but when iPad was right next to my router using wifi, was only getting around 220Mbps, once switched over to the XD5 (which was fast and easy) was getting over 700Mbps. So super pleased with this. Probably due to the fact BT hub is still wifi 5 and the ASUS is using wifi 6. Overall it has increased my wifi speed all around the house, 3x the speed I was getting with my BT hub.

Unstable and unreliable
For the price, I'd hoped for better performance than this. Set-up was fairly straightforward, but after just one day, we started getting unstable WiFi connections. Certain devices (not specifically 2.4g or 5g), would simply not connect, whilst others seemed to be connected just fine. From previous experience, a quick reboot of the Zen WiFi normally got everything back up an running. One of the reasons for choosing this set was that it has the ability to automatically reboot, and I set this up to do so each day, early in the morning, so seriously question why I'm needing to reboot again manually just a few hours later when my laptop won't connect to the WiFi! Asus tech support sent a list of things to try, most of which, I'd already done, others (like reducing bandwidth), there's no way I'm even going to try, a bit like buying a Ferrari and having it limited to 20MPH!! So, it's going back for a refund... Would I recommend this, certainly not.

No more family complaints about the internet dropping out
Due to the router been located in the corner of the house we could not get wifi in all rooms. I tried several solutions including boosters and power line carriers but they had stability and speed issues requiring the system to be rebooted very regularly. After purchasing these, i have stable, fast wifi everywhere and have not had to reboot anything to date.

Disappointed by the results....
Absolute rubbish download speed, and poor distance!, the coverage is patchy at best, despite installing the mesh router by the book. Tried a speed test, and the result was shocking- My old Deco reported speeds at around 75 Mbps which was fine, but the range wasn't very good, and that's why I bought this, it promised faster download speeds and a greater range- a claimed coverage of 7500 ft, in which it achieved BUT the download speed is very very poor.. I'm going to try again from the very start, but to be honest, I don't give it much hope and so it might have to be returned....very disappointed, EDIT.. after giving up with this system, I set up up my old deco system again, and I ran another speed test- here you can see the difference..

Shame About the Lack of Support
Good range but the support as usual with ASUS is non-existent. Claimed warranty expired & wanted the serial number, which it turned out is hidden away in the flimsy documentation. Then had to upload the Amazon receipt yet 3 months on, it still shows as warranty expired. Satellites also don't fully follow the WiFi settings of the main unit & again, ASUS were completely useless, so that remains unresolved.

Beats out all the competition
After trying many different Mesh Devices this is the only kit that worked great across my solid brick home

Not worth the money
Unless you live in 2 room apartment with cardboard walls this Mesh system will disappoint . Wireless Connection of each mesh node is slow even if you set them in close proximity. Only Way to get anything decent out of them is to connect each node with cable and leave them in the room where you need internet the most and make sure it has clear sight on the device Any object in front of the node will reduce speed by 50%. The whole point why I purchased them was to NOT drag cable across the house. For the asking price they are definitely not worth it.

[Mixed] Works very well but FRUSTRATING installation & maintenance
TLDR: Asus XD4 Pro (AX Mini) have minimally better coverage and speed than Amazon eero 6+ systems but installation and maintenance of former is an absolute nightmare - especially in mainland China. This is the consistent problem with Asus incl. their laptops: hardware is very good-class leading BUT software is still a nightmare. Reason for purchase: Get decent WiFi coverage in a 400m² concrete tower flat as the resident attached 3 WiFi routers to a modem, creating 4 WiFi networks that you need to manually dis/reconnect when moving from room to room. WiFi calls frequently drop due to interference. Product: Asus XD4 Pro (mainland China model; known as AX Mini) Date of purchase: 24th Jan 2025 Price: 4 units for 245GBP for 600m² coverage PROs + small + roughly 150m² coverage/unit + stable WiFi + available in white incl. white charger CONs - rubbish installation process: took me 6h for 4 units in mainland China and 1h in the UK (6 Amazon eero 6+ took me 30min incl. updates) - terrible app and software: does not work in mainland China and unclear if it requires additional fiddling for firmware and driver updates - Asus Router website complicated and requires a lot of patience - 2 Ethernet ports serve different purposes, and you need to get the order right. Amazon eero's 2 Ethernet ports detects and switch automatically - no USB C charger/cable like Amazon eero Comparison (in UK/Europe): Asus XD4 Pro - Installation: 1/5 - Coverage: 5/5 - Speed: 5/5 - Latency: 5/5 - Stability: 5/5 - Usability (software, app, website, maintenance): 1/5 - Average score: 3.6/5 Amazon eero 6+ - Installation: 4.5/5 - Coverage: 4/5 - Speed: 5/5 - Latency: 4.5/5 - Stability: 4.5/5 - Usability (software, app, website, maintenance): 4.5/5 - Average score: 4.5/5

The setup is very fiddly and the app is incredibly bad! I had the points disconnecting for no reason even if I left them over night in the same room with the router. Then I had the router sitting there with the white light but no wifi. Then later the router decided turning off by itself for no reason. Now it seems like all is working but my god the vpn client (they call it fusion) is so unintuitive

Works out of the box. Easy to set up and run. Relatively neat and non-intrusive. Ideal for compact home environments, providing all-round coverage. It is still vulnerable to interference from electrical appliances and building structures, so I wouldn’t recommend it for business/professional use.
