I bought this to replace a rather loved pen and it has been a good choice. The colour is lovely and it’s a good quality item that writes beautifully. The only caveat is that it is on the small side so probably more suited to ladies but I’m happy with my purchase.

The look of the pen is just right and when you useit it flows

I can resist anything except temptation! A few years ago, a posh Parker ballpoint that I'd inherited from my Dad fell apart in my hand, and I've missed it ever since. Seeing this red lacquer Sonnet going for £61, I finally gave in to my craving to replace my favourite pen with one very similar to it. The Sonnet ballpoint is almost exactly the same size as a Parker jotter, so if you're happy writing with one of those, upgrading to its deluxe cousin won't cause you any discomfort. The main difference in the feel of the Sonnet compared to a jotter is the extra weight that comes from its using brass instead of plastic. Its French-manufactured metal construction gives it an agreeable feeling of substance—I'd be surprised if its twist mechanism didn't turn out to be durable. Of course, some people would say that spending more than a tenner for a pen is silly, and I can't imagine ever paying the kind of price asked by Mont Blanc, for example. But it seems to me that this Sonnet ballpoint is a very happy compromise between the claims of economy and beauty, not least because its compatibility with Parker's gel refills means that it can produce writing almost indistinguishable from a fountain pen's. Warmly recommended.

I have anticipated that Sonnet Ciselé is a beautiful piece of craftsmanship, but the reality turned out even better. It's pleasantly balanced, very precise and so good looking. Yes, it's expensive, but it drastically differs from any other more affordable Parker I've tried. For me, it was worth the money. I was in doubt about ordering fine nib, but it turned out to be ideal for my tendency for tiny handwriting: very smooth yet enabling better readability for small letters.

I bought this to gift it to my daughter and when I saw the Pen and Signed my name it was a Keeper. I had to get her another gift and this pen after Use goes back into the Box in which it came. Very well made Writing Instrument.

Der Kugelschreiber ist ein echtes Schmuckstück und liegt auch sehr gut in der Hand. Das Gewicht ist genau richtig. Leider schreibt er nicht gut; mein Schriftbild ist damit schlechter als mit erheblich preiswerteren Schreibgeräten. Das ist allerdings ein sehr subjektiver Eindruck; es mag anderen Menschen ganz anders damit ergehen. Es geht einfach nichts über Ausprobieren.

Bloedmooi afgewerkt en discreet. De massief gouden pen bedekt met palladium. Dat is nog eens iets anders dan een vergulde stalen pen! Ongekend licht, soepel, zacht en nauwkeurig schrijvend. De inkttoevoer is heel regelmatig. De F is nu eens een écht fijne punt. Kreeg hem geleverd mét converter — uiteraard leeg — en los twee patronen erbij. Wel zo prettig: liever geen aangebroken patroon die alleen maar tot uitgedroogde inkt in het kanaal leidt. Ik schrijf met de dop op de achterkant geschoven.
