Q: I received this today and it is nothing like my 2007 Toyota sequoia's actuator. Mine has a very different design. Has anyone used on 2007 sequoia?

This is one component of the sequoia assembly. You need to keep and use the original plastic housing and electronics for the lock. I’m guessing you did not take that assembly apart.

Q: Will this work on 2011 Honda Pilot

I’m not too sure. What I did was put my car in the Amazon search and tailored the part to my vehicles year, make, and model. This one was for a Hyundai Elantra but once I added my vehicle to the account it said it fit.

This is the latch that holds it closed and release’s when the rear hatch needs to be opened this part rarely goes bad it will wear out after lots of use usually the handle above the license plate breaks being made of plastic also if you find your battery goes dead for no reason this latch is probably the problem it has a sensor in it that won’t let the vehicle’s electrical system go to sleep if your handle is broke I suggest an all metal one if you look around you can find them

Special Features	Highly recommend if your hatch handle breaks go ahead and replace this unit as well. Hatch works as good as day one., If the lock doesn’t function when the button is pressed, or if there is a buzzing noise in the tailgate when the button is pressed, the tailgate actuator-motor may be faulty. You need to replace your tailgate actuator. The tailgate lock actuator fits 01, 02, 03, 04, 05, 06, 07 years., If your latch handle keeps breaking, it may be due to a sticking/old/rusted latch mechanism. So don't keep replacing handles, replace this part as it may be the cause of the problem., Note that you need to remove the locking solenoid module from the old part into the new one. Installation wasn't too bad as long as you have dismounted the trim on lift gate., This latch was pretty easy to install once the panel and trim was removed from the inside of the tailgate.
