I always had two pairs of Airpods, one to listen to while the other charges, so I'd never be without my tunes. About two years in, one of my pairs pretty much lost 95% volume from the right side pod. I thought the driver might have given up the ghost, or a malfunction in the electronics as they struck the ground multiple times in their life, and generally speaking, gravity is not a best friend of electronics. I spent hours and hours combing through forums to see if it was an issue inherent in the Airpods, that they were just not made well to last, but while I've seen many complaints, I saw no solutions beyond sending them to Apple, which at this point they were beyond their warranty and would have cost a pretty penny, so I chucked them in a drawer, bought a third pair to replace the "defective" pair. About a year later, the same thing started happening to the second pair! I was losing significant volume out of my right pod and though to myself, OK this MUST be a design flaw. Perhaps they are more "disposable" and not as robust as their laptops that I've been using for decades. Back to the forums, and besides some grumblings of dissatisfaction from many users experiencing the same issues, I decided to search Amazon for a "cleaning kit". On inspection, they were clean, I always used a plastic tool to clean the grill and other ports and a cloth to clean the rest. When I stumbled across the AirSquares, I thought logically these make total sense. All the other regular brush kits didn't really have a way to "extract" the wax build-up over the years. Even though I was a little dubious before purchasing, the reviews were solid so I decided to throw a few cups of coffee's worth of dollars to give them a go With one square and about 20 minutes while I was watching some TV, I cleaned all three pair and was shocked how many "candles" I pulled out of my little Airpods! Gross I know, but I was amazed how well it worked. I kept at it until I couldn't visibly see any wax on the AirSquare. Not only did I clean the three sets of Airpods, but their cases too! Since I bought the 24 pack, I'll be good for another few years at least! Not only were they "clean" now but they all worked LIKE NEW! I can't tell how how happy I was that I didn't throw over $300 bucks down the drain when my first two pairs of Airpods stopped functioning properly, and I was considering buying a fourth pair to replace the second! This is the most excited I've been about an inexpensive purchase. If you are on the fence about purchasing this product, get off the fence, buy these and get the wax out! I feel this really deserves a great review and background to my experience! In short, This works !!!! Get it, you won’t regret it!!! I have had my iPhone 11 for around a year or maybe a little bit over a year now, and a week ago a day came where I had an issue when I was speaking on the phone and I couldn’t hear my boyfriend on the phone almost at all!! Going forward, the calls became very muffled, and it was impossible to use the phones head speaker to have a normal conversation. I became very frustrated and needed a solution because I consider my Phone to still be brand new and will not be buying a new one for a couple of years. So I went on the Internet and googled this issue, found a bunch of YouTube solutions and Apple solutions online, such as resetting the settings to original factory settings and even erasing the entire phone because people were saying this is a bug that causes the Speaker to be muffled or that it has to do with the system software or settings being wrong on the phone or the most simple solution that I should clean speaker with a toothbrush and alcohol ... I did this cleaning at home and it only helped the littlest bit, making me believe it must be a bug, and I went as far as resetting my phone to the original factory setting which doesn’t get rid of any data or contacts, just settings. This also didn’t solve the issue. I have really looked closely at the speaker grill and it has the most tiny microscopic holes I’ve ever seen on a phone. No way a brush can clean it. I came to Amazon and I found this gunk cleaner ! IT IS THE BEST. IT WORKED INSTANTLY! My iPhone is brand new and super loud again. I am so happy. This works on phone speakers and AirPods it gents into the tiny spaces dirt and dust gets stuck over time that you can’t even see with the naked eye. How I used it: Took one square out and pressed into the speaker hard, putting much pressure to get the squish stuff to mold into the shape of the speaker. And repeated this 3-5 times. Then I tested called and I was blown away by how loud the sound was. Brand New. Thank you so much! This saved me a bunch of useless advice, I really believe anything that has to do with hardware and software is an unlikely cause of a muffled speaker problem. It’s just the new design on the grill of the speaker getting dirty and being impossible to clean the old school ways. Do buy this before you head to factory reset your phone or pay Apple support or other services. This truly deserves a long review.

I didn’t apply that much pressure but the putty got stuck in the microphone holes

I never noticed the gunk in my Google buds until the other day. I was grossed out and decided to buy this putty. The packaging was super easy to access. The pieces of putty are pre cut into the perfect size. The putty removed the gunk and cleaned my buds case as well. So many uses for this putty!

These have been absolutely amazing! They clean great and do an amazing job and keeping my earbuds clean when I use them!!

Tried to use and the putty got stuck in my iPods. Threw it away after that - horrible product.

Oh my god it works

Used on my iPad, iPhone, Bose earbuds and all the cases and I’ve got to say this stuff does an excellent job. Can’t help thinking it’s a lot of money for what it is. However given the cost of the items it’s cleaning it has to be worth it.

I have many pairs of earbuds, mostly for music but also for noise reduction. I have used the putty as per the instructions but have been disappointed by the amount of residue left on the surfaces.
