Cole & Mason H59408GUSA Derwent Salt & Pepper Mill and Grinder Set, Acrylic Stainless Steel

Having never spent more than £20 on these things, I broke out into a cold sweat when my better half suggested these. Once I had calmed down, I had the light bulb moment, the reason for needing new ones was my previous approach meant they never lasted. Anyway a few weeks in and these are without doubt the best mills we've ever had, solid build, consistent grind, no mess and they look great. Spend the extra, they are worth it.

No dislikes at all with these. Like others before me I have built up to these through a series of cheaper versions but this is the best if dearer model. Little to no spillage of either salt or pepper an excellent grind and a solid feel. The little tray that is available is also very useful to catch very minor grain spillage. As an addendum, My Partner would like to know what pepper is it filled with, it’s very spicy ?

It pays to pay proper money for a proper product

Sturdy high quality grinders. The multi selection for grinding from fine-medium-course is great as well. Equally at home in the kitchen when cooking or on the dinner table for use by company during a casual meal. These have replaced a few other sets that just didn't work that well.

Replaced an old wooden salt and pepper grinder in the kitchen with this set. The adjustable grind is easy to use a particularly useful on the pepper.

Apenas giras un poco y sale la sal y pimienta triturados muy uniformemente y además el ajuste de fino o grueso es super preciso. En la posición mas fina es verdaderamente fino, y la mas grande deja los pedazos bastante grandes pero también uniformes. El resultado es que siempre puedes usarlo exactamente como prefieras y de forma muy sencilla.

I bought these in an effort to upgrade the things I have in my kitchen, trying to embark on a "buy for life" (or at least long term) philosophy so that I own higher-quality, longer lasting products. This was not it by any stretch. The grinders FEEL CHEAP. They are a good weight, but something about them just doesn't feel great. I think it's the fact that it's made of acrylic and not glass, and the stainless steel doesn't really feel "real", like that might be plastic too (although the description says steel). They also don't grind very well - I had high hopes because you can have several grind settings (for how small you want the grind), but they don't grind smoothly and honestly not enough comes out at once. Also, there's always residual salt in the bottom of the grinder that doesn't come out onto your food, and there is no "cap" included, so I pretty much always have little flakes of salt on the dinner table after using them. The previous set I had (plastic ones from the grocery store) had the grinder at the top (so they are upside down compared to this set) and there is a little cap that goes on top so that you don't get salt and pepper everywhere by accident. They're just ok. If I am being truthful, the $7 version at my local grocery store is a better designed product in terms of use and functionality (perhaps not as pretty) so I definitely have buyer's remorse on these, as the Cole & Mason ones were so expensive. Also, to add insult to injury, the shakers don't even come full. You pay a premium for these shakers and they are about half filled with salt/pepper when you receive them.

This salt and pepper grinder is top of the line! It's stylish, functional, easy to use and well worth the money. Very easy to use, grinds Peppercorns effortlessly, has a large capacity. I do particularly love the look of it, to be honest, and would have been willing to pay more.
