This game is simply brilliant. It has all the usual ingredients that made the original Mario series so good and adds little extras (such as the shell power-up, underwater levels, wall-jumping etc) that enhance the game even further. There are a good number of levels and loads and loads of secret things to find (and even if you find them, you sometimes have a hard time actually getting to them). This type of game is never about the sound and graphics, but they are really good, with subtle touches that bring a smile to your face (I especially like some of Mario's comments - when you shut the DS, but leave the game he shouts 'bye bye'!). For extra value there are some fun mini-games that utilise the stylus (my personal fave is whack-a-mole) and you can also play 2-player using wi-fi. Overall this is a great game that is just soooo playable and has that 'just one more go' feel as well as a perfectly pitched difficulty level. Highly recommended.

How often do you find yourself saying "they dont make games like they used to?" Probably quite a lot if you are a retro geek like me. Well here's a game that they have made like they used to. Side-scrolling platform loveliness, with beautifully vibrant colours. There are just enough new features to keep the game feeling fresh. So how does this game stand up against the old classics like the original 3 Mario Bros and Super Mario world? Surprisingly well.. It combines elements from Mario Bros 3 (the style of the level select menu) and the gameplay feels like Mario World, but much smoother (you'll understand once you play it). New Super Mario Bros doesnt use the touch screen just for the sake of it, which is nice. A few other games I've played have been spoilt by excessive use of the touch screen for no apparent reason. All in all New Super Mario Bros is a fantastic new addition to a fantastic series of games.

Arrived on time but with scratching and tears, product worked fine

I bought this for myself and my new look DS (as opposed to a brick style game boy i must have had in the early 1990s!). When i was younger i loved Super Mario Brothers and then Mario 2, Six Golden Coins so i felt that this was the natural progression! This is a great game, and its not just for kids! It is frustratingly difficult as you get to the later levels! Somehow, i got to the end of the game without unlocking two of the worlds and i found it wasen't easy to work out how to unlock them ( i won't spoil it for you!). Graphics are good, story is typical Mario, and the extras and 2 player wi-fi modes are worth thier own game! I am currently going back to get all the coins and work on the unlocked levels... look forward to another similar style game in the near future!

I bought this game for my daughter's 5th birthday, being a bit unsure whether it would be too difficult for her. Well it's turned out to be a BIG hit! I needn't of worried - she enjoys playing it, her elder sister (7 very soon) is really good at it, and I quite enjoy it too! My eldest can unlock the different worlds for her to play. Perhaps if you had a 5 year old and weren't a Mario whizz yourself or hadn't got an older child, then this part might prove a problem! We still have a lot of worlds to unlock but hopefully this will keep them both occupied for quite a while! The best part of it is that you can connect to another DS so they both can play. Lots of laughter and giggles with this! Will probaby buy Mario Kart next!

Nach langem Warten kam heute nun endlich doch noch das Spiel bei uns an. Es ist ein Klasse Spiel und meine Kinder haben sich über den Ersatz unseres Originals gefreud. Es funktioniert alles super und genauso wie bei einem deutschen Spiel auch. Also ist ein Import aus der UK sehr empfehlenswert.
