Paid £900.00 in Black Friday deal. AMBEO- SoundbarPlus. I have come from a full blown surround system so I was not expecting miracles having said that the sound experience was good coming from a relatively small speaker system minus all the cables that came with my old rig. I have added a sub since (M&K)which has given it some more bottom end. The problem with all these soundbars they show it in an ideal room setting not in a corner next to a window and a fireplace so not allowing it to work at it best. I am hoping that they will add a surround option in the near future as this will correct many of its shortcomings. I can forgive all the above if was not for a glitch when the sound drops out when switching tv channels which necessitated switching channels and back again or switching off and back on again before it worked. So not perfect but gives a lot from such small box so would recommend it. I was hoping for some wireless rear speakers to be announced for these sound bars as I think this is what this system is crying out for but this looking less and less unlikely as time goes on, shame as this would of made the difference between a good system and almost perfect system.

The sound is brilliant but once it’s connected to the tv hdmi input connecting to other devices through the various inputs available is virtually impossible! Connecting to the network is fine so the app, though basic, works well but the remote doesn’t! The equipment is well built - the added subwoofer is worth the extra expense in my opinion.

Stunningly capable, fills the front of the room extremely well. Shame Sennheiser do not offer rears. The class of the audio is top draw, really impressive sound bar. Well done! Looks amazing too

First of all, the sound is awesome. Don't get me wrong, sound quality wise it's amazing and if you are not fussed with just using the remote or OK with with a generic setup then ignore the rest of this review. All I am saying is I am sad I didn't buy the equivalent Samsung soundbar. The issue I have is, the device is not very smart. If the first few months, I struggled with it not detecting my working device and would randomly switch off. Then I redid my living room and changed the wiring and now it seems more stable. Now you could say I am the issue but I have multiple devices originally plugged in and right now, I have less. Then there is the software, boy oh boy, it crashes. The soundbar becomes unresponsive and we have to power it down and back up again. It also doesn't play nice with third party volume control. Either than or I haven't quite figured it out and I consider myself a little bit tech savvy. So yeah, I am complaining, it is expensive, so I was expecting more.

Sound in general is OK (nothing outstanding), but the connectivity is a nightmare. HDMI input works very bad, changing constantly between devices, the remote is basic, and the app is more fireworks than really useful. All in all, a very expensive product with a poor performance… made a very bad choice… UPDATE: downgrading to 1 star. This device has huge connectivity issues and the customer support from Sennheiser frankly stinks. NEW UPDATE: after months waiting for Sennheiser Support to answer or do something, I found that the problem I have is a common problem to ALL Amber Plus Soundbars. Since the last Firmware update (September 2023) all the problems started and the soundbar freezes every now and then without any clear reason. The only way to get it back to work is by doing a hard reboot. Despite Sennheiser knows about this problem, they did nothing about it and there is no patch nor new firmware that solves the issue. STRONG WARNING: DO NOT BUY THIS PIECE OF CRAP!!!!

This absolutely blows any other soundbar out of the water. I have tried the Sonos Arc Ultra, Beam Gen 2, Samsung Q990D, Bose 600 and ultra, Denon and some others. I had given up all hope of ever finding anything decent. The Sonos is all treble and harsh, no surprise given it has dozens of tweeters. The Ambeo Plus has full range drivers and two bass units and no tweeters. I did wonder if I would miss out on the top end. Well not at all. The detail is mind blowing. There is a bit of Bruce Willis RED movie when he puts some bullets in a frying pan. Holy bananas, the bullets seem to go left and right the whole width of the room, then the most amazing bit, one appear to hit your ceiling. Literally. The room correction function actually works unlike all of that garbage from everywhere else. It’s normally listed at £1200, but was offer at £899 which is why it came into my radar. It is a steal at this price. The app is also brilliant. Music sounds awesome too. Real separation. Just put it into AI and Ambeo mode and let it sort it all out for movies, and into music mode for music, and that’s it. I also like how if you have guests that want more voice, then the unit gains the voices overall rather than just increasing the volume from the front centre channel. This is a definitive difference to other units. If you just want a one box solution, then buy one, they are mind blowingly superb.

The soundbar is solidly built and sound good, but not the surround sound it claims to be and expect for the price. It also has severe software issues, frequently failing to play any sound from the TV or BT box without having to un plug the unit and start it up again. Until Seinnhauser get their act together to resolve these issues I would highly recommend you not to purchase this soundbar.
