My 18 year old long haired cat is getting arthritic and having more trouble grooming himself. He gets matted in a short time. I used a comb and scissors but couldn’t get through mats, my husband’s trimmer worked ok but got hot and scared him. This trimmer is tolerated very well by Ollie. It’s great and worth the $. I’m so happy to have purchased it! 👏

This is very small, which is a plus, and also fairly quiet but not silent. My 20 year old cat had matted fur and needed something smaller since she is so thin. I was able to distract her with treats and slowly trim a large mat that had developed across her back. The blade is small, not like the dog type trimmers you normally see. It was perfect for this situation.

I am giving 4 stars because hair kept getting caught in the guards so I eventually just used the clippers without a guard lol…My poor cat. But the clippers themselves do work! 😂It still does make a noise but not as loud as normal plug in clipper set for men’s hair.I do recommend as the clippers work, I wish the hair wouldn’t get caught in the guards.. but I definitely botched my cats hair. 😂

This thing is great. It's easy to use. Easy to clean. Extremely quiet. Cuts very well.More importantly: the cat--who is a complete, monstrous beast with 10-inch claws and the nasty attitude to match--doesn't seem to mind it. She just flops there.I've been using it to give her the cat-spa version of a Brazilian, because she was repeatedly toting around too much litter-box luggage (big luggage) attached to her fine, puffy, long fur. Not her fault, but ick, ew.

IF - your cat can tolerate the noise, this would be wonderful for those who want or need to shave down their long-haired, soft and fluffy cat. My precious one is a "CH" cat who is a bit wobbly in the litter box and unable to clean herself. So, the people who had her before me kept her in a lion cut, keeping her mane/chest area trimmed neatly. I bought this to use to maintain her "hairdo" - she was happy letting me brush her with the trimmer as long as I didn't turn it on. The minute I turned the trimmer on though - she bolted and wouldn't come near. Yes - I know the trimmer is advertised at "less than 50dB" but, perhaps a CH cat has more sensitive hearing? Anyway - the design is perfect for cats - and, I could tell that it would do a wonderful job easily - IF your cat can tolerate the noise.

This shaver is great! Easy to hold! Easy to use! My long-haired calico was unfazed by the soft vibration and hum! It comes with a couple of attachments and a soft pouch to store ! I highly recommend ! She even allowed me to shave her private area and she’s a crouchy 10 year old cat !

These are safe for use near cats sensitive skin. Our long haired cats needed matting removed and I'm grateful for the safety aspect. That said, the speed of these is slooooow. As in it is taking me hours to remove a patch of thick, long wavy matted fur from one of our girls. It's great that it is quiet too as she seems unbothered by the noise. The other cat has straight hair that is not quite so thick and it is faster in that type of hair. I'm charging the shears as I type. I hope to resume again to finish this chore.It would be preferred that these came with a regular charging cord rather than a USB type... This is slow going! Slow speed and slow charging.

I recommend this product. I have a long hair cat. She’s up in age and not able to clean herself very well. Her hair has been getting matted. She would not let me brush her to get the mats out. I used the trimmer gently on her. She didn’t put up a fight. She laid down and let me shave her. The trimmer got off all of her mats. Did a great job. Worth the price.
