Wiss M2R Metalmaster Aviation Snip, cuts Right to Left, Green, 248mm

They go through 1mm brass sheet like sharp scissors through writing paper: effortless, one movement cutting. How they compare with other brands I can’t say, but in themselves they are excellent. Solid, well-made, comfortable in the hand (especially if you have large hands - the gape when they’re fully open is quite wide, although they’re perfectly easy to use even if your hands can’t stretch that far), well balanced and extremely effective. The blurb says that they’re good for eight miles of mild steel plate and I can quite believe it. They seem extremely robust, as well as wickedly sharp. They’re not the cheapest, but they are worth the money. A word of thanks to the reviewer of another make of snips on here who mentioned Wiss as his preferred brand. Good recommendation.

08/01/25:- I know there are a lot of NONE genuine Wiss products out there but the one I've bought seems genuine enough, it's solid with no loose couplings, they're sharp, comfortable in the hand and easy to use, hopefully they'll stand the test of time. If there's any problems or issues I always update my reviews, if there's no updates there's no problems.

Great pair of snips and will last for years

As a newbie to the world of enamelling I was looking for snips that I could use on copper sheet as well as stainless wire mesh. Having read various reviews, it became obvious that Wiss was a brand to trust. Not quite sure what cuts straight, left and right means but at this time all I was looking for was straight cut as I will refine shapes with a jewellers saw and files. These cut through 1.5m. steel wire easily, plus lighter gauge equally well. I have had problems with other heavy gauge being a little harsh on lesser wires. The cut through copper sheet - I have tried 1mm so far - but it was like a hot knife through butter. I am fairly sure that should I require to cut through heavier gauge these will work. Overall - very impressed, I will not be a heavy duty user, but these now reside in my workshop toolkit and I am sure I will get a good amount of use from these. In time, I may also look at left and right offset cutters, if I do Wiss will be my first port of call. I hope this is useful to people.

Amazing, durable, quality construction and feel. Very robust. The straight cut allows me to cut steel wire ties. Currently I work in construction and we have to put materials between the rebar, so cutting ties and barring the steels away is now an easy feat. I'm cutting these ties with the nose of the snips, literally just about get 1-2mm between the jaws and it cuts the steel wire! As a sparky I also use these for cutting and terminating kopex. Again these are a breeze and go straight through. My previous snips were Wiss, they lasted 3+ years. I still have them as a back up pair. Durability is the name. These will never let you down.

Extremely disappointed with the quality of these scissors, they don't even look like the same ones I've been using for a few years.

One of my best purchase on Amazon. Still very sharp after years of cutting metal wires and thick plastic bottles.

They work great until someone runs them over with a forklift... They don't come back from that.

A really good set of snips. The crescent brand has always been a good brand and I've relied on it and have bought them many times. They're sharp and they, cut smooth and they perform very well. I have had many pairs of these and I recommend them highly.
