Rip stop is nylon, but yet 100% cotton?

actually rip-stop is a weaving technique not a fabric , so you can have a 100% cotton rip-stop. It does feel a little different from my original 1968 jungle hat but is is the best replica that I have found.

i wear the same size and i bought the x-large and it fits great.

What size is recommended for 7 5/8 head?

Recommend Large for 7 5/8. (I wear 7 3/8, and Large was a little loose.
