10 X 2 Amp Domestic 240V Household Mains Plug Fuse Electrical Cartridge Fuses

Contrary to the photo showing a Bussmann fuse, what arrived was a plastic bag containing 10x Jade 2A fuses. The fuses look UK compliant with the dimples in the end caps. I cut one in half with pliers. It was filled with sand, and the wire was bonded to the centre of the end caps, as it should be.

I use them in my tank heater and pump plugs mostly to protect the digital timers that they connect to.

The fuses I received were Jade brand, and not Bussman as illustrated. However the fusing current on the 2Amp sample I sacrificed seems to be within specification; holds at 2Amp DC from my bench supply, and fuses in a couple of seconds at 3Amps, so it will protect the appropriate cable. But I don't have the facility to do a proper mains voltage withstanding test, so for an unknown make of uncertain pedigree I can only give it 3*

These fuses are essential for the home, but most people have incorrect fuse ratings in their plugs. On advice from my electrician colleague, I am replacing the variety of 3, 5, 10 and even 13 A fuses in light electrical plugs with 2A, which is correct for the cable and most computers/laptops. I ordered 10 - judging from the packaging this supplier is used to bulk supply, but to their credit they supplied me promptly with the correct item and I have no reservations about recommending them to others

As a precaution, I prefer to use these lower 2 amp fuses than the lowest (3 amp) generally available to the retail stores, especially for all audio and video equipment which use very little power these days. These were keenly priced and delivered quickly.

Great product normal size for a normal plug I didn’t realise that I needed a smaller size for my two pin adapter Didn’t know there was a different sizes!
