Q: Can I put some water in the bottom and freeze it for a long lasting ice cube?

I wouldn't - 1) it would impact the straw fitting in and working and 2) If the top of the water freezes before it is solid it could warp the metal interior. A The opening is wide enough to accommodate large sized cubes anyway so i really don't see a need. We put in a handful of ice maker crescent shaped cubes and it last all day.

Q: Does it keep liquid warm?

I’m not sure we’ve only used them for cold liquids. But work great for cold milk and iced water.

Q: If the spout is left open, does it leak or drip?

When it’s standing upright? No. If you knock it over? Depending on the position in which it lands & how full bottle is, yes, it can drip.
