I love trying international sweets since they are usually so different from what we normally consume in the US. This bag of tamarind-based candy from Mexico fits the bill. At first I wasn’t sure I liked how salty it is, but it quickly became addictive. The fruit combined with the spice and salt really takes off. With this bag, you get individually-packaged, single-serving bags of Pulparindo candies. The product is repackaged, it didn’t feel fresh. It felt hard unlike the fresher ones I’m familiar with.

When it comes to big candy brands and buying in bulk, you tend to have a lot of options on Amazon, but when it comes to smaller more ethnically niche candies, options dwindle and you can find yourself shelling out just as much money for a small bag as you would for a multi-pound bulk bag of a better known brand. This bag of Pulparindo Mexican candy is a good example of a (sort of) bulk option for a niche candy that won't break the bank. Pulparindo's selection here are in line with what I've come to expect from their candy line-up with medium to pretty dang spicy takes on popular flavors like watermelon, mango, and tamarind. I only discovered chamoy-style gummies last year, but I've enjoyed Pulparindo's watermelon candies for quite a while now and this 4-flavor pack has those, while also letting me try the extra spicy tamarind flavor for the first time, which our household was looking forward to and really enjoyed once we did. ***Overall Value*** It's hard to argue with the value of this bag as it's only $9 (at the time of review) and you get 20 packs plus a bonus push-pop style candy.

All in all, these pulparindo candies are delicious and high quality!
