Didn't realise you could re-weather proof items so easily.

I got the wrong item. Ordered the wash in stuff, and got the spray on stuff. Easy remedy; I used an empty spray bottle. I knocked a star off for this reason only. That said... The stuff is brilliant. Period. Tip: I washed my clothing items by hand, with ordinary dish soap (not their tech wash), then rinsed and spun the I'm the machine to get the "wet garment" they want before I sprayed this stuff all over and let it air dry. My old waterproof jacked is back to its "like-new" water resistance. Water and rain just bead off it. As expected to be honest. What REALLY impressed me? I did the same thing to a pair of chino-type shorts to test it on normal fabrics that would normally soak up water like a sponge, and they are now my new wet weather riding shorts. They are just as waterproof as a pair of professional ones, but feel exactly like a normal pair of shorts. No plasticky feel, and without knowing you would think they are a normal pair! I've added a video that shows them under a tap. Yet to test the durability with regular washing but well worth it considering anything waterproof is more expensive than normal clothes. The possibilities!!!

I found that you need to use 150ml per item and only wash one item at a time. In advance, wash the item on its own on the usual cycle without any washing detergent and then put it back in the machine on a slow spin and delicate wash cycle.

Easy to use and coats are very waterproof after use. You do need to use quite a lot per garment. It's not cheap but coats last longer.

I had a coat that was waterproof, with a hood, and had washed it in the washing machine. Unfortunately, it lost its proofing, so when it rained heavily earlier this year I got soaked. The clincher was a walk round the lake at Clumber Park. I decided to try this and the corresponding proofing treatment. The Tech Wash is a gentle detergent that is not going to remove any proofing treatments. After a machine wash with this at a low temperature, I used the Nikwax proofing, which also goes in the washing machine, like a detergent. After checking labels, I did a low temperature tumble dry and then tested in the next storm. (Luckily, in the winter or 2013-14, storms were reliable and I didn't have to wait long. The result was that the coat was waterproof again, and I remained dry. As I could not easily find a replacement for the coat in question, even at a large Go Outdoors, I am really pleased about the results. Yes, I know I will have to re-proof the coat in the future, but for just a few pounds per proofing I thought this was a bargain.

I have used Nikwax products for a number of years now and I always go back to them. They work perfectly as long as you follow the instructions to the letter. I have used the TX Direct on waterproof jackets and trousers of multiple makes and it always works really well. Its important to thoroughly wash out your washing machine detergent tray before you use it and always wash garments in a detergent free mix first to get rid of any grease or dirt. I always use Tech Wash for this which does the trick. Great product for restoring the waterproof film on clothing and getting the rain beading again.

Received the product substantially ahead of their projected delivery date of 3 weeks later. The product (Nikwax Direct Wash) speaks for itself, & I know of no other products out there at this time that do the job effectively. One problem I experienced with this order as in some others in the past, is that some of the product leaked out into the package, probably during shipping, & I received less than the full product content volume. One would think that maybe some duct tape or other simple remedy would help seal these bottles better for shipping?? I really wish some supplier would rectify this issue!

Seguendo correttamente le istruzioni sia della giacca che del prodotto recupero l'idrorepellenza degli indumenti da moto, che con il tempo viene a svanire.
