I've done wood work for 54 years of my life and used a lot of hand planers but this one is a beast If you want a planer that'll do the job you need to get this one and pick up some spare blades just in case somebody decides to discontinue it discontinue it I'm going to be buying another one and some extra blades to go with it

Triton is poor quality I have thier small belt sander and it overheats sanding the edge of a 3/4 board 8ft long. But to the planer it quit on the 13th pass on cedar 6x6's never to work again I even tried it 2 days later in case it had one of those thermal switches so it doesn't overheat, nope junk returned

Pros: heavy equipment, good adjustments, blades are sharp, cuts very good. Cons: The table was not calibrated, the intake is next to the discharge, overheated twice, discharge clogs easily. During use the discharge debris was getting stuck in the intake causing the motor to overheat. Poor design in this regard. When the motor overheated, it caused the bushings to melt the plastic holder. I had to disassemble twice to allow the bushings to advance. Overall, it works well. Luckily I have a good understanding of how this works, otherwise I would have sent it back when it stopped working the first time.
