This is an excellent razor, not cheap, but it is excellent. I have long been a fan of Philip's razors, my last one purchased some 10 years ago, (it was also in the then 9000 range) and I was looking for an upgrade. Then came some offers on a Prime day, and I invested. I was expecting improvements, and certainly got them. A closer shave, faster, coped even better if it needed to catch up after a 3 or 4 day gap, and even easier to clean. I even found my old Trimmer attachment could be swopped across, an added bonus. If you are looking for these types of benefits, and you have had your old razor as long as I had, then you won't be disappointed.

I have had a Phillips shaver for years, it was a 9000 series and could not fault it, however Phillips had stopped producing the replacement heads and the ones available were absolute garbage. I took the plunge and bought myself a new shaver, even though extremely expensive it would appear to be worth it. The new unit is quiet and shaves well, the head unit opens up different from the old one and is a lot easier to clean out the old hairs. It can be a little more difficult to get in around the bottom of the nose but with a little moving of the nose it is possible. The unit itself feels like a good quality construction and hope I am right. I just hope that the replacements heads will be around for the same amount of time as the last one so I can get another 10 years worth of use out of it.

Great shaver, but just how did the design of the case ever get approved and put into production? The shaver comes with a USB powered cordless charging pad. It also comes with a nice travel case. But there is just one problem. The charging pad will not fit inside the case! That means you have a shaver and trimming heads rolling around in a case that's too big for them, and yet it is just that little bit too small to fit the charger pad inside. So, you either have to pack the case and charger separately, taking up way too much space in your luggage, or you pack the shaver and charging pad both with no case, and risk them getting damaged in transit. Really poor design Philips. Did it not occur to anyone there that people would need to take the charging pad away on holiday with the shaver? Why did you make a case that is too small to accommodate the shaver and charger together? Can only give this product 4 stars as a result.

Being a ‘wet’ razor 🪒 guy all my life, I thought that I’d buy my first electric razor and after much research, decided upon the S9000 Prestige. The razor definitely looked the part and I was impressed with its build quality, lightness and with the accompanying case and charger. I used the shaver in ‘dry’ mode and after washing and thoroughly drying my face, went to work on my stubbly face. I was immediately impressed with the closeness of the shave and experienced zero irritation. It’s extremely easy to clean and to charge and I’m looking forward to using it in ‘wet’ mode - I intend putting it through its paces over the next few weeks and optimistic that it’s going to perform to my liking.

Really good shaver but only buy when in a sale and paying a third of the advertised price Gives a nice close shave. Can be used wet or dry. Is easy to clean and comes with some useful arrachments Really well made and from previous experience will last for several years only needing to replace the shaving heads every couple of years

This is the best shaver by miles i use it to shaver my head also,it blows those rubbish bulldog head shavers away absolutely krap they are.i know there a bit more expensive the Philips 9000 but worth every penny and more trust me...

This was purchased to replace a bulldog skull shaver that was plagued by battery issue. A lot more money but has a very long warranty backed by Philips. Battery use life seems shorter than the Bulldog but so far has lasted 10 days and only just dipped below 50%. That is using it daily for face shaving and twice for head shave. More than enough for a two week holiday. Battery charging is done on a rather large wireless pad. The disadvantage of this is its something else that need to be packed for a long trip. Would have liked the option of wired charging via USB. Shave closeness is very good far exceeds the bulldog.. hand grip is good for face shaving but a bit awkward for head shaving compared to the bulldog. Attachments are useful but took a while to work out how to remove the shaver head. Was not as simple as the bulldog (no attachments available for the bulldog just used for head replacements).Instructions not clear on how to remove attachments and action is stiff ( twist firmly anti-clockwise and pull reattach opposite way until click felt). Overall good build quality but is pricey. However it should last at least 5 years ( 5 x how long bulldog seem to last). Not had to replace blades yet (recommended after 3 months)
