Double Plus Good
Star Wars level light saber. The smell of burining bugs permeates my home office because I leave the door open and a lot of mosquitoes fly in. I leave it in the active mode on the stand and even if it's not on the charger, it lasts several hours and zaps bugs without my effort. (I leave it not plugged in because I broke a charging cable in my eagerness to kill a bug flying by). You just have to pick it up and wave it at the bug and it satisfyingly fries it as it flies by. (Frying a flying fly is so satisfying). This thing is probably 2.5 times the surface area of an average hand, but according to Austin Powers, maybe 3.5 times that of a carney's hands. It is actually well made. The stand is not a charging stand...that would be nice...and the stand is lightweight so it's a top-heavy arrangement and prone to tip over in anything beyond a Beaufort 4. Highly recommend.

Watch Out Flies!
I notices a lot more flies this past summer getting comfortable on my back deck. I bought a dynatrap bug trapper that sits away from social gathering areas, but it does not really attract flies all that much, so I decided I needed a more aggressive, yet fun approach to ridding these flies of my gathering area. Enter the Electric Fly Swatter. Now, an ordinary, warm, summer day should be relaxing. But it is hard to relax with these pesty flies buzzing around you!! So I decided I needed to put in a little work, a little effort before I could truly lay down on the outdoor sectional under the warm rays of that summer sun. I checked the battery level of the Electric Fly Swatter and say it too, was ready for some work. I stealthily opened the slider door to the back deck after noticing the family of flies gather for their afternoon group flight rest. I turned on the Electric Fly Swatter to the top setting (it zaps them itself without you having to hold down the button). I wound up and quickly swatted at the group of about 6 flies. I was able to effectly take out 4, with one stuck in the swatter continuously being zapped until it started smoking. I could have shook the fly out or turned it off, but I felt I had a message to send, so I let it cook. I continued on this mission, eventually going all around my property, eagerly hunting flies. It became a game for me. All in all, this product is light weight, but sturdy. It charges fast and is super effective in his primary duty of fly elimination. Now, it is safe when used appropriately, but it is still safe if you happen to...hit your spouses elbow or knee. Just a quick zap, although probably not recommended. Guess you can teach more than just flies a lesson with this... The sound quality it superb. ZAP ZAP ZAP ZAP!! There is a battery indicator on the front of the handle with three green dots indicating a full charge. On the first setting (just showing the green dots) is the one where you need to press the button on the right side of the handle to use the zapping feature. If you put it on the second setting by sliding the button on the right side up to the top setting, the front of the handle will show a red lightening bolt, indicating that the zapping feature is activated and you do not need to press the size button for it to zap, just go to town!

Disappointed but good customer service
I so wanted to come on here and give a glowing review but after just over two weeks of use I just can’t. For a couple reasons: First, from day one, it was never strong enough to actually kill houseflies without shocking them two or three times, which actually felt inhumane. You get a big show with sparks and lights and a smokey smell, but the fly was just shocked for a moment then would head on its way unless you swatted it again. And again. Luckily, we only had a few of those around. Our big issue has been drain / fruit flies. Which brings me to reason two: After a couple days of valiantly shocking drain flies into non-existence, (same over the top light show, but without the funky smell) half the racket just stopped working. I would put it over one of them as they lounged on a counter top and watch them walk or fly right through the center. If they went towards the top of the racket, sparks flew and no for fruit fly, but anywhere else, nothing. A mere two weeks of use and only half the racket works. Not exactly the best value out there. I’m past the return window by a few days, so I’m stuck with it, luckily it was under $25, so I don’t feel too bad. But if you’re considering, try another product. Update 11/18/25: The seller reached out to me shortly after I posted my review to ask how they could make things right. I unfortunately did not see their email until today, but I really appreciate that level of customer service. I also figured out why the racket was no longer zapping fruit and drain flies. There was a very small piece of lint in between the netting towards one of the outer corners (and when I say small, I’m talking less than 4mm). Once I removed it, the whole racket worked again. It still takes a couple tries to take out a fly, but the little guys are gone no problem. Also, I would like to report the battery life on this is amazing. So I’m upgrading my review to 4 stars.

best one yet...
I have struggled with the common, battery powered yellow rackets that last about a year if lucky. This one has a rechargeable battery. It also has a stand and a night-light function that attracts flying insects. The surface area is large and even the tiniest fruit-flies wont escape. It is an attractive design with several settings. Do you have pantry moths? Flies? Mosquitos? It makes short work of them with a resounding crack, and you dont have to hit them twice. Fruit flies sound like popcorn! I cannot comment on its effectiveness on a larger insect. I like the design and it feels good in the hand. Easy to use and effective. Stays charged for quite a while. Hope it lasts.

Very Good
Wonderful zapper. Old place had many fruit flies and was hard to get rid of. Got this and it zapped so many in the bathroom and near the patio. The zapping sound is quite loud. The light, if kept on automatic, is quite bright so be aware of that if you keep it in the bedroom. Otherwise it's a great night light for the bathroom or hallway. However, I have to say, at my current place the fruit flies here must've had a brain rewired and became smarter because they've been ignoring the zappers pretty well. The only issue I had was when one of the zapper's metal somehow bent and touched the other side it was making a different buzzing sound and was a bit scary. I didn't know if I should not use it or what. Haven't taken the chance to bend it back to see if that would fix the problem. Anyways, I love that it comes with the racket holder so I can just place it there without having to swing it all the time. Like how stylish it is. It had other family members asking and purchasing themselves some. Got my grandmother one of these too so she didn't have to swing it around. Overall, it's one of the best purchases I've made on Amazon. Hoping it lasts for years to come.

Works good but lifespan is short
This is a good product and does the work. However, it stopped working in a year, the light would still on bit it didn’t kill any flying insects so I had to get rid of it.

amazing!
I saw a video for this device, and it piqued my curiosity. I bought this one and another brand to compare the features. I have to say, this one is the winner, hands down. One of the features that makes it superior was that you do not have to hold down the button to activate the electric. Unlike a fly swatter, you do not swat at bugs, but just gently wave it around when a bug is flying near you. The bugs get bopped and zapped. By not needing to hold the button you don't have to find the button when you need it quickly. The other benefit is that you can keep the device active on its stand so if any fly into it, it takes care of them. They do not seem to be attracted to it, so it is just by chance that they fly into it. I set it on the table next to me in case they are lured in by my breath. I live in the country where mosquitoes and gnats are common this time of year and although I have a regular zapper, this is actually more effective - because not all bugs go for the zapper, but most will go for a human's breath. The other feature that I think makes it superior is that the grid pattern is very small. Although the one with the wider grid does effectively take down small bugs, like gnats, I think this one gets more. It definitely doesn't eliminate every bug - but it definitely helps. As with other brands, it does have a usb charging feature. I specifically chose that because replacing batteries did not sound like something I would want to deal with. It holds a charge for quite a while - enough for me to spend a few hours outside, for several days, before it needs charging. It takes a few hours to charge.
