This is a pleasant smelling bar to wash face with.

What first struck me about the MASSE' Probiotic Rose Oil and Clay Face and Body Bar was its extremely strong scent, which I could smell before I even opened the box. It's obviously rose but there's another scent that I'm not a fan of - obviously that's just a personal preference though. The description says it is for both face and body so I've used it on both. Just a note that this is a pretty small bar of soap that wouldn't last very long if you use it on the entire body; as a facial soap the size is more reasonable. I wasn't happy with how my skin felt as the soap was being rinsed off - it had that "squeaky" feeling that made me feel like my skin was going to be dried out. However, I was surprised that when I was done that wasn't the case at all; the skin on my body was quite moisturized and my facial skin just felt a little tight and only required my ordinary moisturizer. The product description contains the words "AcneZero" but I wasn't totally clear if that meant it is supposed to treat acne or just that it doesn't cause acne. For the record I don't have acne, so if this is an acne treatment product I can't really speak to that, I'm just using it as an ordinary cleansing bar for sensitive skin.

I adore the scent of roses, so I jumped at the chance to try this natural soap to help treat breakouts. It is highly fragranced by the natural ingredients, the scent lasts a long time on the skin, and it doesn't irritate my nose or give me headaches- unlike many artificial fragrances will. The scent is forward of roses, with spicy, woodsy, and smoky notes- much like exotic, mysterious, and sensual incense, and I'm in love with the smell! The soap creates a rich, thick foam that spreads a long way across skin. The suds cleanse thoroughly without leaving my skin feeling dry, and the soap is gentle on my dry and sensitive skin. The suds rinse easily and quickly, and the soap bar is quite firm- it should last a fairly long time. This soap is helping with face and body acne, and has been making a noticeable difference on myself and those in my household who use it. Probiotic skin care is fairly new to the beauty world, but seems to be the new hotness, as we learn more about the helpful bacteria that keep our skin healthy. I'm not a huge fan of bar soap in general, but this one is the exception. It smells really nice--fairly light, and not overly perfumey. The lather, rather than being lacy and frothy, is a nice rich low-suds lather that’s a lot easier to manage on your face. Unlike other bar soaps, this one rinses fully without taking forever. It left a “squeaky clean” feeling, which made me wonder whether my facial oil was going to kick into high gear to replace what had been stripped, but a couple hours later, my face is feeling soft, rather than tight.
