Delicious but Sweaty
These tapioca pearls/Boba pearls are neatly packaged, smell delicious, are easy to make, and has a great chew. I've tried making boba at home before and couldn't find any boba brand that didn't smell and taste funny. Unlike other brands, this one doesn't smell weird and taste delicious. They do come a bit sweaty inside the bag but they smell sweet and yummy when you open it.The instructions are hard to read as its purple font on a blue background. But its simple: boil a lot of water (about 4-6 cups), add 1/3 cup of boba and boil for 5-7 minutes. Strain it. Mix 50%sugar 50%water to make a syrup, add boba into it and mix evenly. Enjoy with tea. Note: if you don't like too sweet like me, I just put 1 tablespoon of honey and 1 tablespoon of hot tea and mixed with the boba before serving.

These are very good and even better when you understand how to prepare them
Reading all of the amazon comments about all of the available listed tapioca boba had me very nervous about doing it myself; but to my happy surprise these are very good and I recommend them all the way! I watched a whole lot of YouTube videos to make sure I did it right. You can adjust these to your liking when you properly understand how they work. 1. It's a simple boil until they float.2. then simmer with a lid on low heatuntil they soften.Basically the longer you boil them and simmer them the softer they become. I boil mine in a brown sugar water twice as long as recommended and simmer longer for a softer pearl. You must take into account that if you add ice to your drink that they will become firmer. Its wiser to make them more soft than you actually want them to balance it out. I add brown sugar to my water because it penetrates the pearl and gives it a flavor all the way through. Get creative with it! Add cinnamon, vanilla maybe a splash of rum to your boil in your sugar water. Just understand that they will not have much of a favor if you boil them in plain water, rinse them, and then transfer them into a sugar water or honey afterwards. There are alot of recommendations and videos to do it that way and when people do they complain about it being flavorless and too hard. I do not rinse my pears with water afterwards because it prevents the starchy coating that holds even more flavor to to the peals on the outside . I just remove them from the water and then drop brown sugar on them again and mix it up until the sugar dissolves. If you want less flavor take the flavoring process out of the boiling or the soaking process if that's your thing. Also I haven't seen it listed anywhere on here in the reviews but I consider it important information. I recommend only making enough for the servings you are preparing so you have none left over. Boba pearls have a very short shelf life. Basically 2 to 4 hours and if you refrigerate them you are only speeding up that deadline and hardening them. Leaving them out past that time to just soak can make them so soft they practically melt away and become a slimy breeding ground for bacterial growth. Some bubble tea shops do this and I advise you to avoid those places. High end bubble tea shops only keep a batch for 2 hours or less if the boba is made from scratch at the location. I have heard recommendations for freezing them and then rewarming them as needed but the results of that are on the slimier side as well but some people are into that.

I made a Caramel Macchiato slushie (because I love them at Kung Fu Panda) using the refrigerated Starbucks ...
Thank you to the customer(s) who suggested boiling in sugar water, especially if you plan to use them right away, so they are sweeter. I followed the package instructions EXACTLY with the exception of adding 1/8 cup of granulated sugar and 1/8 cup of brown sugar to the water and let it boil. I added the tapioca pearls and slowed to a simmer and stirred every 2 minutes for a total of 7 minutes. I put in a colander and let sit under cold running water for about a minute, while I prepared the drink. I made a Caramel Macchiato slushie (because I love them at Kung Fu Panda) using the refrigerated Starbucks brand, milk and ice, in a blender. I put the bobas in a glass and poured the slushie over it. I inserted a bubble tea straw and wowsa! Very happy! I also checked the ingredients of these pearls, concerned over recent news of carcinogenic pearls that contain BPA. I have no reason to believe that these pearls contain that ingredient. However, we cannot regulate everything that is sold and ingredients can be "left out" of the ingredient list. However, I feel like I have better control over my health cooking these for myself than trusting a restaurant to use the "purest" ingredients. I will update if I find out anything else! However, I am super stoked. P.S. my bag also arrived with some condensation in the package. It went away after a while, and the Q&A from the company says it is normal. There was no mildew smell or anything to indicate that the condensation would be unhealthy. (I teach environmental health, so I am pretty concerned about everything - haha)

So happy with my purchase!!
Love these!!! They came on time both times I ordered. I'm so happy I decided to order from this seller. They don't have an odd taste to them AT ALL. If not soaked in a sweet solution they simply just taste like nothing, just like unflavored jelly. However when soaked in a syrup they're soooo yummy! Definitely will keep ordering.

When I received the boba package it had moisture in it. I’ve ordered boba before, but this was my first time seeing that. Will stick to ordering a different kind next time around as I’m not sure it’s safe to use these ones.

bubble tea at home
easy to make and perfect results - add a tea spoon of vanilla to the water and boil as instructed, my kids got nearly professional in making bubble teas at home and saving tons of $$, also add stevia instead of sugar, almond milk or just put in regular ice tea or cooled hot chocolate

Great, easy to boil
Great, easy to boil. They taste pretty much like gummies and the flavor reflects what you put them in. I enjoyed making the bubble tea and will do it again!
