Powerful cooling, slightly loud — but worth it
bought this LG 14,000 BTU unit to support my main 24,000 BTU Mr. Cool in a large living room — and wow, now the space is actually livable in the summer heat. This thing cools fast and hard. Airflow is strong, and it does exactly what it promises. It’s probably not the quietest AC I’ve ever used — but to be fair, I’ve been running it at full blast since day one. Once I start using it at lower settings, I expect it to calm down.Yes, the remote feels a bit outdated and there’s no auto temp mode, but honestly, for $474, you’re getting a real powerhouse. Install took me 20 minutes, no sweat. If you value raw performance over fancy features, this unit delivers. Highly recommended.

Great AC and it's soundless!
What a surprise! It is basically soundless AC. We just installed it yesterday and had a deep sleep not even recognizing that it is running. Another positive side of this AC, the quality of air. It's fresh, no smell of working AC, and easy to cling removable filter. The size was scary... but when it was installed, its looks clean, simple and modern. We love the new LG AC! Highly recommend. Requires 2 people to install the unit.

Super cold and super quiet!
Best air conditioner I've ever had. Extremely quiet and cranks out cold air. No more cranking up the TV volume with this one. We actually had to turn the TV volume down to see if it was running when we first turned it on.

Zero stars for LG but 5 stars for Amazon!
We ordered this unit early April 2025 because we were concerned about tariffs increasing cost and scarcity concerns. It arrived early April and we are in upstate NY so we did not even need the AC till June 6. So we unboxed it spent 2 hours installing it ( it's an involved installation) and when it was perfectly installed I plugged it in and turned it on..... that's when things went bad. The AC took a min to fire up and when it did it started banging and clanging like someone was inside it whaling on it with a hammer. One of the large internal fans was not properly aligned and the thing was about to blow up so I shut it off! Since it was more than 30 days we thought our return window was closed so we called LG directly.... well that was a waste of time... the dingbat on the line kept asking me to check to see if it was plugged into a wall socket!!!! Finally realized I was not going to get anywhere with LG so I called Amazon directly and by golly they immediately WITHOUT ARGUING said pack it up and return it for a full refund! Amazon you rock! LG you need to get some quality help and not farm it out to the lowest bidder in some foreign hut.

Great AC - but a pain to install.
Right off the bat, this would be a 5 star review if not for the installation process.Laying the box flat you'll take out the front clip of the unit and become aware, this is not an open the box and put it in the window unit. The instructions have you remove the main unit from the casing. Then install the casing to the window and slide back in the actual AC. That part isnt difficult. The difficulty comes when trying to install the black clips that support the sliding sides... they just are not built to go in. I had to use pliers to bend parts of the casing in order for these clips to pop in.You also will likely want to get a support for the outside, as its pretty heavy. The sill supports provided dont work if you have slanted sills. I ended up putting a support rod in from the end of the unit to the ground. The actual AC once its installed is GREAT. Its VERY quiet at full force, and pushes the air very well.

Fantastic performance and highly energy efficient
This is my second LG inverter window AC that I have owned. The other one is a 14,000 BTU for the rest of my home. This 6,000 BTU cools a medium sized master bedroom no trouble at all. Normal A/C units have an on/off compressor. This one being an inverter unit can vary the speed of the compressor to meet cooling needs which means it doesn't consume all 5.5 amps during operation. Worth the investment if you want to save money on your energy bill. I installed mine in a custom frame in a vertical sliding window because portable units SUCK. 10/10 very pleased!

Just the best!!
I have been buying window air units for the last 40 years, and this one is the Best, very quiet, very energy efficientAnd with the WI FI, I can control it from anywhere, my friend has a black Decker unit and it's noisy and has noWI, but it was cheap!!

Quietest air conditioner I have ever owned.
8000 BTU LG in window air conditioner. This air conditioner was very heavy at 70 pounds and weirdly very very deep, most air conditioners that I've had have been between 17 and 19 inches deep this air conditioner I believe is about 24. I would suggest putting it on an air conditioning bracket. The first thing I like about this air conditioner is the front is very modern and sleek and flat, there are many features fan speeds sleep mode everything that you would want in an air conditioner. The best part is, when on fan speed one, in economy mode I can't hear it at all, when you crank the fan speed up to three you can hear it, but just barely. I love the sleep mode.
