A great 35mm lens
Camera lenses can be expensive, especially if they combine both its ability to be fast in terms of aperture and to be a prime but this one goes against the grain in that it is quite inexpensive for what it is. The lens is made by Yongnuo, a Chinese company that produces camera accessories. ====== Build ====== The lens is a stubby lens, a similar size of a Nikon 50mm with just a focus ring and a switch between automatic and manual. There is no manual aperture ring on this one so the build is quite light. I wouldn’t say it is as heavy as my other lenses but it seems to be built from similar materials. The lens arrived in a box with plastic covers statically attached to each glass end so it was protected all the way to my door which is a nice touch. ====== Using it ====== I use this lens on my D800 and I’ve had great results so far, having an F2.0 aperture can certainly help bring in depth of field to those slightly wider shots. I’ve used the automatic and manual focus functions and found it to be responsive and accurate. I have found the sharpness to be good – it’s not as good as my Nikkon 50mm but its close enough for the effect I want. That’s not to say the image is not sharp but just not as razor sharp as I have seen from some other lenses. Some sharpening in post will certainly bring it back. ====== Conclusion ====== This is a great lens for those who haven’t got the money to splash on a branded lens from Nikon but the results are still good. I would recommend this to any photographer and I will be buying from Yongnuo again.

Very good
The lens was good however there was dust on the lens when I got it? Did look like it was meant to be there as it was very think and easy to remove may have been to protect it but yea found it weird but in terms of value for money its great planning on changing my nikkor 50mm 1.8 e for it

Decent for what you pay
So you'll not find a 35mm cheaper that can open this wide. Not new anyways. It's OK at f2 bug a little soft as to be expected. It's nowhere near as bad as you'd imagine. The worst thing about this lense is the slow AF. It's really slow, and really inaccurate and it's definitely not something you'd wanna use for high action situations. But...you take this out for landscapes and you take your time, and expect to correct the quite pronounced barrel distortion, and you use manual focus...my word. For the money this is exceptionally good quality. I've sold shots made through this lens. And continue to. Give it a go. It's a great first prime and if you're on crop sensor is closer to 50mm so that's a bonus. Bare in mind, it feels cheap and nasty and far too light. BUT...the metal bayonett connector is METAL! Try getting any Nikon at the same price with a metal connection. Even my old 18-105mm Nikon which cost a fair bit more than this, has a plastic connector. So you won't go wrong!

Better than Nikkor DX
For a lens as cheap as it is, I'm deeply surprised by how good it is. In fact, I think it's better than Nikon's own lenses. I use it for bright colours mostly, and fur, two things you need a good lens to capture with minimal trouble. It functions amazingly in all light conditions, the auto focus is flawless, and the picture quality, when coupled with my D7000, is unfathomable.

Broke after a few weeks. Supplier won't refund/replace
When it worked it was an ok, budget short prime. Pretty happy with the look and results. However after just a few weeks of very light use, I can't adjust the focus, and the camera isn't able to AF either. I've reached out to the supplier/shop several times and just get ignored. What a waste of money.

Having used a lot of Fujifilm lenses I can say this is not loud, slow, inaccurate or soft
Having used plenty of slow, inaccurate or loud autofocus lenses (particularly from Fujifilm), I can say that this is not. I had no trouble using this lens in a nightclub setting with just the flashgun's AF assist beam too. I can also say this lens its pretty sharp at F2. Certainly sharper than Fujifilm's x100 lens and doesn't suffer from the close-focus softness that the 23mm f2 has.

Alright for the price
Manual use is nice with this lens. It's not the highest quality, but it's nowhere near unusable. I was satisfied with the quality. However, the autofocus is absolutely horrific. Tried the lens on two different cameras and there's a scary crunching noise while using AF. It hunts painfully in indoor daylight, it even struggles under studio hotlights. If you're planning on using mainly manual focus, or shooting things that don't move, this is a smart buy for a photographer on a budget, but if you rely on AF you'd be doing yourself a huge favour walking by.

Quality , value for money.
What a stonking lens !!! In all my 35 years of photography I have found a lens that's better than my 50mm by the same manufacturer,it's a really nice lens I purchased a lens hood for it as it helps with stray light. I can highly recommend this lens!

Ich habe dieses Objektiv einmal für Canon und einmal für Fuji. Die Originale sind sündhaft teuer, ich verdiene kein Geld mit Photographie, bevorzuge aber Festbrennweiten. Also diesen Kollegen hier ausprobiert.
