Yes, this comb, with three rows, is effective. You may know that old expression: "Comb it when it's wet. Brush it when it's dry." However, I use this comb on my dry, thoroughly and gently brushed hair. Yes, I brush first and then use this comb to lightly scrape/scratch/stimulate my scalp. My hair is growing like crazy! I'll be 70 next month and 1) my hair is turning blonde (yes, really) rather than grey and 2) this comb also gently scrapes off any build up of scalp treatments. I definitely use it on my dry hair at night to stimulate my scalp before I apply my evening scalp treatment. That gentle tingle tells me I'll derive the maximum benefits from my topical treatment. Oh, my hair is now down to my waist!!!! The one draw back is the time it takes to clean this comb. But... It's worth it!

Absolutely love this as a detangling agent! Even the toughest hair it was just gliding through. My kids who usually complain were like o ok other than a few snags it didn’t hurt.
