NON GAUZE DISK MILK FILTER Review: Works great! - I am new to milking goats so figuring it all out can be hard. These filters were to big for what I thought I needed them for but I found a great solution. I just make them into a cone and place them in my jar. My girls are loving goats milk “without the floaties is better mom.” You do have to filter fresh or the fat will stick in the filter after refrigerating. Review: Great! - This is perfect for fast and thorough filtering of milk. Initially I was using coffee filters because I wasn't fully prepared for our goat and I didn't know what I was looking for. The coffee filters, as you can imagine, got clogged up, tore, and did not filter fast -- it was painfully slow. I didn't know if these would work, and I didn't understand how people were using them because I imagined them to be quite thick. They are not. They can be easily folded to fit in the recommended strainer to filter the milk. Someone had told me to buy the smaller size because it's cheaper and filters just as fast, but this one is really the perfect size. And at $0.10/filter, it's not really a huge sacrifice in terms of cost. It's perfect! I'm glad I went with this one.

HAPPY MILKER
I LOVE these... I hand milk 2x daily due to my son's allergies, and these filters make it so QUICK to strain the milk i was using something else before and it took forever because they would get clogged and would strain so slow but these are amazing it flows thru so easy and does a fantastic job quick and easy. I just toss them when i'm done and on I go to something else. I will buy them over and over.

Works Great for home
I am milking a goat and was using a coffee filter but it is very slow. I purchased these to filter my goats milk quicker and it works great. To make it easy use a funnel place the filter in the funnel then place a funnel for canning over the top of it to hold this in place then dump in your milk. I guess you could probably use two canning funnels with the filter in between and it would work just as fast or even faster. I would recommend over coffee filters.

Nice filters
Like to get these as they are on prime shipping and they work well but can be hard to bend at times.

Need to be shaped to fit a container in order to work
These filters do their job - they filter out all the dust, hair, hay and debris that tends to fall in a milk bucket while milking. However my lack of enthusiasm is due to their shape. They arrive as a flat, round piece of "non-gauze" filter. If I were to set the disk on top of my jar, the milk would run straight off it - not through it. As long as I can "shape" it to fit inside the jar, it works fine. But it is an extra step I have to take, to shape it first to fit into my jar, so that it will neither fall in, nor slide off. With a little trial and error, I came up with a method that works. I shape it inside a mason jar, then put the ring on, to hold it in that shape. When it is time to pour my milk from the bucket into my gallon jar, I take the shaped cone out of the mason jar, sit it on top of the gallon jar and start pouring. So far, so good. The filter hasn't fallen in and doesn't leak most of the time. However I fail to understand why the manufacturer doesn't shape them to fit some kind of container - much as a basket coffee filter is shaped prior to purchase. Speaking of coffee filters.....I am considering trying just using one of them to filter my milk after I've finished this box of filters. A few days ago I bought 200 coffee filters for $1.98. I paid a little over $8 for 100 milk filters. That makes them pretty pricey! I have found that I can rinse out a milk filter and reuse it several times, which helps to mitigate the costs but....after rinsing they need to be reshaped to fit the container again. If a coffee filter will work just as well, I probably won't purchase these again.
