It’s not “just wood”.
This is nicely made, sturdy and polished wood. There are no wood splinters and there was no unpleasant lumber smell when opening. To clean it you just wipe it regularly with a dry cloth. It also required no assembly. You just pull it out of the box and roll it out. It is great base for my Japanese style futon that keeps it off the floor and lets it get good air flow.

Great Quality
If you have any doubts I would try this and get a thin mattress. I sleep amazingly.

The queen size is heavy and non-trivial to roll/fold and move. The product work well for what it is.
Queen Size Review: (Note: The size of the product impacts the experience) The product works well, I have no visible damage and it is a sturdy quality product, made of what is essentially some wood panels and thick synthetic fabric which runs the length with some space in between. I was surprised by how much this resembles raw material, but I wasn't sure what I was expecting. It does its job well and lives under a pad so the cosmetic attributes hardly matter. While the twin size may be easy to roll and light, the queen size is quite heavy and could be a bit too much for daily deploy/store patterns. I would consider this non-trivial to fold up, and I wouldn't consider rolling and moving it daily to be viable. I personally move my pad off to the side, fold it in thirds, then do the same with my pad, and use it as a bench/lounge surface during the day. Figuring out how to do that in limited space can also be a challenge. Overall I like the product, it's worked well for me, I would have liked it to have been lighter and easier to maneuver around, but aside from that I have no complaints. I've only had the product for 1-2 months and it's held up so far, but time will tell how daily folding/unfolding impacts the lifetime.

Great Solution for Mattresses on the Floor!
I bought this breathable, moisture-proof bed plate because I needed to move my mattress to the floor for my senior dog, and I didn’t want it sitting directly on the floor. It has been absolutely perfect! The plate keeps the mattress elevated just enough to allow for proper airflow, preventing moisture buildup and keeping everything clean and fresh. It feels sturdy, and I love that it’s lightweight and easy to assemble. This has given me peace of mind, knowing my mattress is protected and still comfortable for both me and my dog. Highly recommend for anyone in a similar situation or looking for a practical floor mattress solution!

Folded out easily. No issues.
Have this under a regular, western style mattress on the floor. Thought the slats would be better than completely flat mats since the bed is not made to be on the floor per se. Only a tad bit shows on sides, I slightly stub my toe about 1x/ 2 months. Not really an issue unless you're kicking around the bed.

Does what I need it to do, but overpriced for the quality
I purchased this item instead of one that appeared more polished in photos (and cost significantly less) because I couldn't wait a month for delivery, and was concerned about possible tariffs kicking in. It did arrive promptly (within a week) and does what I need it to do, but I'm not entirely satisfied, and think it is a little overpriced. If I could give half-star ratings, I would rate it 3.5. The boards have attractive graining, and, as other reviewers have noted, are sanded smooth, on ends and corners as well as on surfaces. However, this sanding left the boards covered in a dust so fine that I didn't see or feel it until it got all over my mattress, which is going to take hours of brushing and vacuuming to get rid of. There was also a little pitch from one of the boards that got onto my mattress - there is no way to remove pitch from fabric. I am quite unhappy about these negative impacts on my brand new mattress. I strongly recommend wiping down the boards thoroughly with a damp cloth before placing anything on them, and running your hands over them carefully to feel for any pitchy spots (typically at knots). The support blocks are NOT sanded on the sides, except the sides facing outward at the edges of the platform. Since there are 68 blocks, each with two cut edges (totaling 136), and only 38 of them are sanded, that means almost 3/4 of the block edges aren't sanded. These raw edges are the source of the splinters other reviewers have mentioned. They are mostly short, thick splinters, with blunt ends, below the bed platform, not likely to stick your bed or feet, but I still have to pick one or two out of the carpet every couple of days. The raw edges are unsightly and detract from the quality of the item, s well as raising some concern that the block will continue to deteriorate to the point of splitting at the corners. Also, the non-skid pads on a few of the blocks were glued on crooked. Not a functional or cosmetic issue (since they are facing the floor), but representative that attention to detail in this product is limited to what shows. The boards seem fine for my lying down weight (which is not small), but if I need to step on them, I am careful to step only where there is a support block underneath, as they don't necessarily seem strong enough to support my concentrated weight all on one point. The platform rolls up easily, but when unrolled again, the slats are unevenly spaced, and the ends aren't lined up. I have found a bookcase board is very useful for quickly squaring all of the ends to the same alignment. However, the spacing between slats has to be adjusted by hand every night, since I roll it up every morning. The flexibility of the spacing is not all bad. My mattress has stretched as I have slept on it for a few weeks, and I have happily been able to increase the space between the slats of the platform to match the increased length. Still, I wish I had a space where I could just leave it unrolled all the time so I didn't have to arrange the slats every night. If I had it to do again, I'd have ordered the other platform before I ordered my mattress and waited out the month.

Sturdy wood, simple install
Just received this piece, and I’m impressed with the sturdy wood and how simple it was to put together. I’ll share an update if anything comes up over time.

Not what it seems at all
This isn't any special type of board (it's not any light or nicer than any other common softwood), the "finish" is very rough (corners are rough rounded, still rough unsanded edges/ splinters), it's not stained or has any polyurethane coating anything to protect it (in case you were thinking about putting it in a kids room). Anyone with a chop saw and a drill could easily build this with $60 worth of 1x4 furring strips from your local hardware store, some cheap nylon webbing(12 yards ~$7), and some foam furniture pads(40"x5" roll ~$10). If you use a sander on all the rough edges you'll have a better finish than this does.
