This arrived with android in Chinese. I used google translate on my phone to switch to English. I decided to install an optimised version of Ubuntu and it is very responsive. I am very happy with my purchase.

This is a great little SBC that thinks it is a low cost desktop. Best to use Ubuntu or Debian Bookworm, the Arch Linux does not seem to work. The built in Ethernet will connect at 1 gb and the Wi-Fi at 780 mbps. Plug in a Wi-Fi keyboard and mouse with the little Lexington case makes a great desktop for surfing the web, some simple writing (libreoffice) mix in a little Freecad this machine is a lot of fun. The network came right up. Tried both 32gb and 64gb flash rams. Used the ultra chips. Connects to my printer and network NAS via the samba server. Update the case to a pwm Geeekpi fsn and a little code we are off. Next up a I2C OLED display for near real-time status. I also have the 5 and 5 plus. They are all good value.

Most of the current operating system for this board series have poor support with GPU acceleration and HDMI conductivity. However I was able to find a copy of Android 12 TV. it is past those issues and the fastest android machine I have used. Thanks MO123!! Documentation is extremely good. I was frustrated at first and was going to send my second board back. Instead I bought two more. These will be my next generation of media players replacing the Shields.

Works out of the box

UPDATE 2023/09/08 Upon arrival, I looked over the SBC and was disappointed to find that the WIFI antennas are soldered into place, and that the notion for the protective cases for this SBC is to let the WIFI antennas hang out a couple of holes. Proper wifi antennas with connectors would be the answer here. I have not even attempted to operate ths device, it is going back to Amazon. -------------------------------------------------- There is no straightforward way to replace the operating system on this device, as far as I can tell. I have other responsibilities, and don't have time for changing languages, using special software tools, and so on, to change settings. I will consider the Pi 5, which has a removable M.2 instead of a built-in emmc. If there is ever a straightforward way to, for instance, install a fresh OS to the emmc from an SD card or USB device, I will look into it again. But as far as I'm concerned, this is an unfinished product for Chinese users.

Hardware looks much better than raspberry pi 4 with more ports and built in eMMC. Performance is next level. Software is a bit weird however.

I tested the board using official ubuntu. there was a small problem with the boot when an empty SD is inserted by solved by rebuilding the boot loader and flashing it to the emmc. The board is very fast but power hungry when loaded. Average power in idle is 1.5 W.
