I'm not a gold miner, BUT!
I might not be a gold miner, but I've found a unique use for this sluice's pattern in my bar—it's now my go-to cocktail-shaking pad. While it's designed for sifting gold, with a great slope and intricate shapes perfect for catching gold dust, it's surprisingly suited for my home bar setup. The material feels like silicon, or perhaps a very soft rubber, which works wonders for keeping things steady and spill-free while I mix drinks. It’s an unconventional choice, but one that adds a bit of character and practicality to my cocktail crafting.

Works great at catching fine gold within the vortexes.
I built a small sluice box for this mat and ran some concentrates over it with very good results with fine gold showing up- all over the mat. With results like mine from this patented design- extra money will definitely be made. I now need a larger- wider- longer mat- for my main sluice runs. Good product and a great find!

Mat is good for fine gold.
Actual mat does fine. The company’s attention to detail leaves quite a bit to be desired… as in LOOK AT WHAT COLOR IS ORDERED.

Longevity of the plastic
I bought the 12"x36" mat at the gold show in Monroe, WA. 2021 I built a sluice to fit the mat. I had it sitting in the house for 2 years before my son took it outside and used it testing a new location. It worked well and recovered some fine gold. All was good. I left the sluice standing on my deck for a few weeks and notice discoloration, turning ash green. Thought nothing of it until I looked very closely, in a matter of about 2 months, sitting on my deck, the mat is faded and cracking like a plastic toy in the sun. I have a Keene A52P mat that is 12 years old and spent most of its life outside is still the same color and still soft rubberized plastic. Both are Dirty, clay. Both work well for fine gold. 1 will be gone next year. 1 needs UV protection 1 just gets used.
