Under Armour 3223 Cold Gear Hood

I bought this for a really cold winter in the Chicago area, 2013. I was reluctant to buy it, based on so many reviews. Here is my experience with this.Fit: It fits perfectly. I wear glasses and so the problem I have is fogging of the glasses. It is constructed such that the bottom piece connects in the back and wraps to the front. This allows it to be flexible and adjustable. I wore mine just below the nose to keep my breathing from fogging the glasses. It worked and my nose was not cold at all.One piece of advice is to be sure to pull it down all the way around the neck. It could be a little longer in the neck region. For me it was just long enough to go below the neckline of my jacket. I also wore a scarf which protected my neck even more.Warmth: I still wore a stocking hat on my head with this hood. Between the hood and the hat I was plenty worm. Even on the really bitter cold days I did not hardly feel the cold.Comfort: I found the hood to be very comfortable. It was not too tight, and was not loose at all. It had just the right amount of tension in the material.Summary: I found the hood to fit well and protect against the cold. It added another layer to my winter protection that was a great purchase. I would recommend this to anyone that needs a hood for the winter, or plans to spend time outside. The hood by itself is probably not enough to protect you. So, if you think that this will replace a hat and scarf, I could not say that it is, or is not, enough for that. My use was to add it as a layer for my face in the bitter cold. It held up so well that I will probably buy a few more in the future.

The UA balaclava is a nice addition that helps cover up exposed skin and stay warm in cold weather. You can snug it up so only your eyes are exposed. You can pull down the front, if desired, and let your mouth and nose breathe freely. Or, you can roll the hood down so that it only covers your neck. In the coldest weather, I used a hat on top of this hood.As with any mask, if you breath into it for a long time it is going to collect moisture from your breath. And that moisture may not be comfortable trapped against your face in cold weather. I don't know of any way around this, other than to roll it down every so often and let it dry out. When skiing, I would cover my mouth/face as I skied downhill, but as we stood around talking at the bottom I would roll down the front of the mask.Overall I like the product. If I want to take it off, it is very compact and can fit in any pocket.

I have used this during the winter in Indiana and NY for about a month each time, working outside for 10+ hours every day. This is great at blocking the wind! Without it my face would get extremely cold (I'm from Florida after all). I would still use a beanie on top of this. The great thing about this is that you can uncover your mouth very easily, without taking the entire hood off. Its very thin and light, comfortable fit to wear all day. Only thing that bothered me was the tag inside constantly rubbing on my neck, but I just cut it off and problem solved.

Great for cold winter days!I am total cold wuss - not gonna lie... this balaclava is wonderful, easy to pull up over your ears/head and keep your face exposed or cover your mouth/nose as well or makes a good neck warmer when totally off..Could be a bit longer to make sure it doesn't slip out from being tucked in your shirt collar but all things considered - keeps you NICE AND WARM especially when it is super cold out!

The hood is very nice. Keeps my head nice and warm. But I'm one of those people that was blessed with a larger than normal head. Thankfully the hood is very stretchy. Otherwise I never would've been able to pull it over my big head. If you're one of the lucky ones, like me, with an abnormally large head; I would recommend trying one of these on in the store to make sure it will fit.

This has been a real saver for me especially around campus. In the winter it's so hard to fight the wind and I don't like carrying around a scarf and a hat and earmuffs and dealing with hat hair. I love this good because it can be worn easily around the neck with the hood down when in doors, then pulled up as far as needed to cover the chin, cheeks, ears, and head. It's really handy.

I did read other reviews about this item and that it didn't go down very far on the neck but didn't think it would be that big of a deal. That doesn't bother me all that much. What does bother me however, is that the part that you can move over your face and nose isn't as snug like I would have liked. Whenever I jog, I constantly have to keep raising it over my nose and adjusting it. I pretty much just wear it over my mouth and not my nose. It does help keep my head warm but I am a little disappointed in it.

i wear this mask while working winters on my motorcycle as a motorcop. i can tell you that it works wonders and truly does keep you warm. Being out on Interstate 95 in 75 MPH wind shear in the frigid winters is no problem at all as long as i have this hood on. It will make your glasses fog as you breath warm air up into the mask so you sometimes have to drop it just below your nose line to prevent this from happening. However, highly recommend!!! Very sturdy material and is quite comfortable. can wear it with ease under any helmet.

Ich nutze die Haube beim Motorradfahren.Hierfür denke ich ist sie im Moment das Beste auf dem Markt. Fötalem beileget Witterung. Der Halsbereich könnte länger sein. Material bei UA wie zu erwarten- top.Coolversion habe ich noch nicht getestet.Preis ist heftig.

Ich habe schonmal den gleichen Artikel bestellt. Damals war die Maske aber enger geschnitten und saß viel besser am Kopf. Jetzt ist sie zu weit, jedoch wenn man Mund, Nase und Hals bedeckt haben will, reicht der Stoff nicht. Klare Verschlechterung des Produktes.
