This 5-metre length of 40-inch wide 10oz hessian feels thick and reliable right away. The coarse jute weave gives it real strength for things like backing display boards, garden edging, upholstery lining or craft projects. It held up perfectly over a year in one setup with constant poster changes and pinning—no drooping or tearing at all. Edges arrive neat with minimal loose threads, though it does give off a little natural dust when you first unroll it (easy to shake off outside). The earthy tone looks natural and warm for table runners, decorations or eco-friendly wrapping. No odd chemical smell, fully biodegradable, and it does the job without fuss. Overall, decent weight and quality for everyday use.

This review is being written almost a year since purchase - although the photos were taken today. I bought this as a neutral backing for the display boards in my classroom. I little unsure at first being a big fan of colour, but I am absolutely sold on it. The hessian backing has lasted a year of several different displays now and it is still looking fresh. Pins stuck in and taken out, border colours changed, and yet the backing has not needed any replenishing. The neutral colours mean anything can be put on it and it looks great. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars is the fact that hessian comes folded instead of rolled (probably a postage and packaging issue) it just leaves creases that take ages to drop out. The ones in my class are nearly gone after a year but my colleague used some I had and the creases are still so apparent (maybe she didn't pull it as tight?) But still, I wouldn't change a thing, I would buy this again in a heartbeat, no more backing boards woohoo!

This fabric arrived very quickly. The quality is excellent and the price very reasonable for the amount. The only thing is, it seems too good for its intended use which is to insulate pots in the garden. I'm sure if I try I can think of some more decorative use for it. It even smells nice!
