I was alarmed out it felt as if it was destroying tooth enamel and my soft tissue lining as I drank the powder - even after diluting twice. So I researched how to ingest this properly and found a unbiased clinical study that recommends NEVER to ingest in powder form but rather capsules. I didn't know this before purchasing and just trusted the company did this basic research before selling the product. I also naively believed the item could be returned as it is listed. However this is not the case as I tried to return it. I have been an Amazon member for over a decade and only returned a handful of items, it is not my MO but I decided this was too egregious and I wanted to warn others. You can easily google the study with a search, "how to ingest betaine HCL".

We love it that it is just the pure Betaine, without any other unnecessary ingredients. As I write this it is about $14 for a full pound. That seems like a great deal. We are thinking of making our own capsules with this and trying it out for a while. Will report back if there are any significant findings.

This particular brand is very hard on tooth enamel. I used Nutricost cost for years and never had this issue. I'm not sure what else is in this product, but it is horrible for your teeth. Beware!

I recently purchased your product and was quite surprised to find that it has a peculiar taste – very salty, almost like drinking ocean water with an aftertaste. Is this flavor characteristic of the product? I would appreciate some clarification on this matter. Thank you.
