Quality brand product
Amazing rotors for my E bike. Just feels awesome when the levers are pressed. Stays firm and no warping whatsoever. I have this installed 2 months ago and am 100% satisfied

Great stuff from shimano
Great stopping power. Very easy install. Fit is something you need to think of now. If your bike came with 180mm rotors you need a +23 mm post mount adapter. If your ride came with 160mm you need 43 mm post mount adapter. Also some frames can’t accommodate this rotor size so check your frame specs for max rear rotor size info. I Hope this helps someone and I’m not just mansplaining basic stuff to bike tech nerds.

Great and light
These are fantastic. They are actually a combined 142g lighter then the cheaper Shimano rotors my bike came with. The stopping power is excellent.

Fits perfectly.
I have a heavy E-bike (Tesway X7-Pro), and I also tow a cargo trailer with it. So I decided it would be a good idea to upgrade the stock 180mm rotors with 203mm rotors. I got this rotor, the XT SM-RT86 for the back rotor of my bike, and it fits perfectly and looks GREAT. I went with the XTR version of this for the front rotor. (Honestly, you can hardly tell the difference). Of course, I had to replace the front and rear caliper brackets with 203-mm capable units, which added a bit of cost, but not much (around $20 for both). In all, I'm super happy with this rotor slowing down the back half of my bike. It's definite improvement over the 180's, even on 2-piston calipers. And combined with the XTR on the front wheel, the braking performance has GREATLY improved. 5 stars.

Great Looking Rotor w/Awsome Stopping Performance
Decided to upgrade my MTB & decided the brake systems was a good place to start. I upgraded from V-brakes to discs. I purchased a pair of 180mm SHIMANO XT SM-RT86 Rotors, pair of Shimano M375 calipers, a Shimano SM-MA90 post to post adapter (front), a Shimano SM-MA-R180 IS to post adapter (rear) & new cables. This setup works awesome, strong breaking, even when wet (much better than wet V-brakes). These SHIMANO XT SM-RT86 Rotors did not come in the Shimano packaging, nor did they come w/any installation instructions. They did come w/mounting bolts (w/pre applied thread locker & tightening plates (see pic). From what I can tell from the branding, fit & finish, I believe these are OEM parts. I am fine w/that, it saves me money w/out sacrificing quality, especially w/something as important as stopping. According to Shimano’s website, the weights for their XT SM-RT86 rotors are as follows: 160mm-131g | 180mm-152g | 203mm-187g. The lighter weight is due to an aluminum core sandwiched between steel. This is also supposed to allow for quicker heat dissipation. What I know is that they work really well. If you’re in the market for disc rotors & your hubs are 6-bolt not center mount, I can confidently recommend Shimano CT SM-RT86 rotors. If you’re on the fence about upgrading your brakes to disc brakes, I’d say do it. Discs stop much better than V-brakes, they look great & if your thinking about upgrading your fork in the future, you’ll definitely have more options to choose from w/disc brakes than w/V-brakes. Thank you for taking the time to read my review. I hope you found it helpful.

Big improvement….
My Orbea came stock with Shimano 180mm rotors. They were adequate for stopping power on flat terrain. When going down steep rough trails I didn’t feel I had adequate breaking control. Jumping up to the 203mm rotors made a world of difference along with Shimano Ice Tech technology which helps keep overheating down. Don’t feel like the down hills are potential suicide missions any longer. Would highly recommend.

No problems at all
These 203mm rotors paired with Hardheaded Ram ceramic pads just work flawlessly. The only thing that would be better is if they dressed them up with some color choices but they work so good it wouldn’t matter color they are

Problem Solvers! Reviewed against the Cannondale Helix 6
This review is a comparison and solution for those in need of an upgrade. I upgraded from Cannondale Helix 6 hydraulic brakes on my 2014 Trail 4, which were cheap junk. After 4 months of having a brand new bike, I was having a lot of brake noise and violent frame vibration at all speeds. With my new bike still being under warranty, my LBS tried a few things like caliper alignment, fluid bleeding, and new Jaguire brake pads, but I got tired of the noise coming back and no results so I ordered these Ice Tech rotors and installed them myself. I also replaced the whole system with XT M-785 levers and calipers. These work in perfect harmony and stay cool, but most importantly they are smooth and quiet. The aluminum center bracket on these keeps the heat moving out the rotors and is supposed to help brake fade from excessive heat. If you have noisy brakes on your bike, consider this as a permanent fix. These have made me love my bike again!

Rotors and everything are great and are what is described, however the seller has decided to ship the rotors in only the little plastic bag within the actual rotor box, rather than leave them inside the Shimano box it originally came in. I presume it is to save shipping costs, however, it puts them at risk of warping to try not to put too much pressure on them while opening.

I have replaced 160mm with this adding adapter from centerlock to 6-bolt and it works great and silently. When I tried 203mm centerlock directly - it was noisy.
