Best battery operated trimmer around
Love my WORX trimmer. This works so well, it can pretty much cut through any weed - and it's a great price, esp when it comes with a battery and charger. Plus I can use the battery with my other worx tools. Battery life: Lasts a long time Weight: Very light weight easy to use Trimmer quality: It's nice, probably one of the best battery operated trimmers I have used

A little workhorse!
I'm giving this little guy 5 stars even though there was a minor issue with the wheels. I get all the way around my property on one charge. It runs out about the same time I do, and time for a break. I thought the .065 line would be too small, but it does a great job. I've cut down 2' mullan weeds which are about 3/4" in diameter! After 3 full charges I'm still on my first spool of line. It's light, and doesn't overfeed line, and the line is always the right length. I just had to tighten the screws for the wheel clamp and clamp for the bar length adjustment. The wheels kept falling off before I tightened the screw. The wheels are a great help when weed whacking as they keep the trimmer off the ground and I can work it with one hand. The light weight is great. So quiet I don't need earplugs, I can even leave my hearing aids on! The small line doesn't throw rocks like my big gas walk-behind, so I don't have to worry about breaking windows. Very nice to handle in tight quarters with the light weight. Any gas engine I can eliminate from my life is a plus.

Real Deal When Purchased Used - Like New From Amazon Warehouse / Minor Issues With Recommended Fixes
After many years of reliable use, the handle on my old Worx String Trimmer broke. I have always had good experiences with Worx cordless tools so replacing it with a newer model was in order. Initially, I purchased a WG173 Worx Nitro 13" string trimmer only to find out it is much heavier than my older 12" trimmer and this newer model WG163. Plus, it uses completely different spool lines that a 12" trimmer. I returned the WG173 and purchased a Used - Like New WG163 12" String Trimmer from Amazon Warehouse for a fraction of the price of a new one. Sure, it didn't come with a 3-year manufacturer warranty, but it was backed with Amazon's 30 day return policy. All the Worx tools I have owned over the years always outlasted the manufacturer warranty, so buying a Used-Like New was a good decision. The one I received looked brand new and no signs of use (e.g. not assembled, not used or even dirty - factory clean, and had all accessories). I swear if it wasn't advertised as Used -Like New I would have never known it wasn't a new product, that's how good a shape it was. Buying from Amazon Warehouse wasn't a deal, it was a steal. This string trimmer easily converts from a trimmer to an edger and back by simply unlocking, rotating, and locking the shaft, and stepping on the string guard while pulling up or pushing down on the upper handle where the battery attaches. Here's the first tip: After about three uses the rotating head that converts the trimmer from to an edger and back again by stepping on the string guard was so tight it was on the verge of cracking if I were to force movement. This is easily fixed by using a long stem Phillips screwdriver and slightly loosening the screw in the trimmer head (see photo). The biggest issue I had on first use was the trimmer line supplied by Worx kept breaking off and fusing itself together in the spool head. I had some off brand trimmer line that I purchased and used with my old Worx trimmer that works nearly perfectly with this newer trimmer. Unfortunately, Amazon no longer sells Gavaer trimmer line, but when I finally run out of spools I'll try another no name brand and hope it works better than the one made by Worx. This trimmer comes with a fast charger and two batteries which gives me about one hour worth of trimming. Plus, it uses the Worx 20V Power Share which makes it compatible with my other Worx tools and batteries. If you're looking for a decent, lightweight cordless string trimmer, consider the WG163 from Worx.

Works great, but charger drains battery after charging.
Update April 21, 2025. *WARNING* Do not leave battery in charger with charger plugged in. It will slowly drain the battery to zero. A 4 Ah battery will lose 1 green light every ~4 days, and is dead after 18 days. I have had over a dozen chats with WORX support about this, and have repeated this exact behavior with 3 different chargers (2 fast charge and 1 slow) and 2 different 4 Ah batteries. WORX sent these so I could test and verify the behavior. Otherwise we are still very happy with the trimmer. The thin line it comes with is stronger than many thicker lines I have used in other trimmers (e.g., Ridgid). It is amazingly strong! So far, no jams with the button feed. This WG173 Nitro works very well. We love the wheels and multiple ways to use them, and how the full shield stops almost everything from hitting the user's legs, unlike the smaller shields on most other trimmers. The cutting power is more than sufficient, and the line feed works well so far. However, the flower guard (extendable metal bracket) shown in some Amazon images and videos does not come with the US version. WORX confirmed this only comes with the European version WG173E, and cannot even be purchased for the US version. I had really hoped to have the flower guard, especially for alignment when edging.

Best edger from worx, in my opinion!
Best edger trimmer, worx has made in my opinion. It has much more power and double cutting string works great. Cuts are cleaner and easier to make. I have brought worx trimmer for almost 30 years. The one improvement I would like to see is the string cutting blade on the edger guard shield! 👌🏽

Efficient and quiet
Previously owned the WG130. This newer model seems like a generation of advancement and improvements. It is like night and day. Super easy to assemble but also incredibly efficient at what it does. Trimming time is way less due to how well it “worx”. The battery powers the trimmer to eat though any level of thickness of the grass. It’s surprisingly quiet compared to my previous model, but more importantly, it cut my trimming time in half. Absolutely love. Wish I had purchased years ago. Well worth the upgrade. Very happy with the purchase cos it worx.

Really happy with my purchase. I replaced on older Worx trimmer with single string to this one with two. Edging is a breeze as is general grass trimming. I recommend this brand and this trimmer.

My Hubby's comments... I have always used gas powered but getting older they were feeling heavy and concerned about gas fumes. My property is just under an acre with 3 gardens, numerous trees and fencing around the back. The trimmer is easy to use, lightweight and I did the entire property with just 2 batteries, That even included edging about 150 feet. The battery charged quickly. I definitely would recommend to family and friends.
