A stunning fountain pen, amazing quality for an entry-point priced product, and extremely impressive as a birthday gift for my father’s 60th birthday! The “Mysterious Blue” finish is a vivid and eye-catching shade, which immediately shows off the craftsmanship of this fine writing instrument. My father has not written in fountain pen for many years, and has complained about his own handwriting ever since! Although I’ve been a fountain pen advocate for the past few years, it was decided that we’d wait for a special anniversary to get my father one, and his 60th/retirement seemed most appropriate. As other reviews have mentioned, this is a nice wet writer, which is of course dependent on the ink as much as the pen, but it puts down a good legible line. It is weighted well in the hand, not too heavy as to be unwieldy, but not too light as to feel cheap either. It has an all-round solid feel, which again shows the quality craftsmanship. The velvet-style slip pouch is a nice touch, and sets this Dryden pen apart from the commonly boxed bunch, providing a nice cover that doesn’t preclude from pocket carrying. Overall, a lovely gift that my father is exceedingly happy with, especially as it is already improving his handwriting style! Thank you, Dryden Designs!

I use a fountain pen extensively at work and at home and have a wide selection from a range of makes. This Dryden fountain pen is excellent in every way. It looks great, with a lovely finish. It is a good weight for me and the nib is perfect, allowing just the right flow of ink for uninterrupted handwriting. I was pleased that the ink converter is included with the pen; often this is an extra, but having the choice between using cartridges or liquid ink is a bonus, I feel. I was particularly impressed to receive a follow-up email from the Company to check that I was pleased with my purchase. I also bought the fine nib fountain pen and have found that to be of equally good quality. If you want a lovely looking fountain pen which works well and is great value for money, I recommend that you choose from the Dryden range

Its a fountain pen. It works. I'm left handed and once I found the right angle for me to hold the pen at, I found this a really nice pen to write with, having a soft, gliding action, delivering a good solid line. Its comfortable to hold, nicely finished and looks like quality workmanship. I bought a bottle of ink to go with it and have used the barrel-refill bit with no trouble and little mess, making this an ideal replacement for single-use, plastic ball-points. It comes with a box of cartridges as well so I've been using these up and here in Wales, where we have excellent recycling facilities, the empty cartridges are easily recycled. However, once they've gone I'll be sticking to the bottled ink. The finish is good but I kept the pen on my desk standing in a small earthenware pot which has scratched the finish a bit- my bad. The pen top is a simple pull off/click on type and fits nicely over the blunt end when writing, making the pen nicely balanced. I have MS which resulted in my left hand losing some of the fine control it used to have but the pen has made me take more care of my writing and the fine control in my hand has increased as a result. All in all I'm very pleased withe the pen.

My son (11) was wanting a new fountain pen and he wanted to buy it for himself and after spending quite some time he settled on this one. It came as expected with no delays and we set it up adding ink to the reservoir as this was new to him (it came with the pen). Once he had it working he got on straight away and did some sample writing. He was so pleased with the result and how well the ink flowed, the way it felt in the hand and made his writing look. He also liked the pouch as it allowed him to keep it 'safe' in with his other pens in his pencil case. Unfortunately, he misplaced it after about 2 weeks form a hole in his bag and he was so devastated that I when back online and got him another one straight away - but fortunately, it turned up in the car and he is now happy to have one for school and one for home. All in all a great purchase and a very good pen and would recommend for all that like the feel of a good fountain pen. Well done on a great product.

Nice pen although I thought I was just buying the cartridges and ink refill barrel; now I have two pens.

I liked this pen very much for the price point. It looks more expensive than it is and is light to hold. It comes with cartridges that are in a Dryden box but they don’t actually fit the pen. I tried and tried to insert a cartridge but to no avail. I have never not been able to fit a cartridge in a pen before, I am have has fountain pens for years. Luckily it did come with a converter so I could use bottled ink. The nib is smooth but the ink comes out very light, lighter than the colour it is supposed to be and flows from a different pen so I’m not sure if the pen is faulty because the ink doesn’t seem to be flowing at full capacity through the nib and I couldn’t get a cartridge in it.

Jolie couleur, agréable à tenir dans la main. Convient parfaitement à une écriture en cursive grâce à une plume large et un bon débit d' encre. Hélas, le temps qui passe et le commentaire évolue. Toujours joli à regarder mais il fuit. J'ai tenté de le nettoyer, de remettre une nouvelle cartouche...rien n'y fait il fuit.

Der Füller kommt in einem entsprechenden Samtsäckchen. Er fühlt sich kühl und metallisch an, liegt etwas schwerer als z.b. Ein Lamy in der Hand. Ich finde aber durchaus, dass es ein gutes Gefühl ist. Nachdem ich den Füller mal,auseinander geschraubt habe, war ich wirklich sehr positiv über die innenliegende Auffüllbare Miene erfreut! Das hatte ich irgendwie überlesen, aber sowas cooles habe ich schon lange nicht mehr gesehen! Leider hatte ich kein Tintenfass hier ( wird aber gekauft:-)), daher habe ich eine ganz billige 08-15 Patrone aus dem 1€ Shop genommen. Passst gut, hält, nix wackelt, klappt prima. Die schreibprobe hat mich sehr gefreut, da ich genau diese strichstärke bevorzuge! Der Füller schreibt sehr schön, kein kratzen oder Auslaufen der Tinte. Die Mischung aus Retro Style und Trendiger Farbe hat mich sehr angesprochen. Im Büro nutze ich immer einen Füller. Dieser ist einfach mal anders. Trends, chic und trotzdem edel und wie ich finde weder kitschig noch albern. Auch der Preis ist wirklich in Ordnung, vor allem da ja der Converter ( auffüllbare Miene) mit Dabei ist! Von uns wirklich eine klare KAUFEMPFEHLUNG! Ich habe diesen Federhalter meiner Tochter zu Weihnachten geschenkt. Sie braucht ihn in der Schule täglich und liebt ihren Füller. Er liegt gut in der Hand, das edle Design und der Tintentank heben sich von den gewohnten Schulfederhaltern ab. Ein sehr hochwertiges Schreibgerät. Cole Punktzahl für gute Qualität.
