I have only good things to say about this product. Safe cutters are in fact much easier to use as compared to the universe of conventional can openers (most of which are junk). But I notice many comments that it doesn't cut. It may be useful for the instructions to point out that safe cutters work like this one work like pipe-cutters. With each turn the blade cuts a little deeper into the can, until eventually, it cuts through. So, the opener needs to go around the top of the can a few times for the blade to fully cut through. Once it does, the cut is clean, safe and requires much less effort than a conventional cutter.

We had a couple of the battery powered smooth edge can openers that stopped working, and so I went looking for a manual version instead. I found this one and it was exactly what I wanted. It creates the same smooth edge cut with one pass around the can. It feels sturdy enough, and it's not too bulky so it fits in a drawer easily.

This wasn't very good! I purchased this to replace my old one, which has been wonderful. It just is getting old and could be replaced. My husband, son, and I tried to open a can with this and could not even get half open. What we were left with were tiny shards of metal, which completely defeats the purpose of this opener, which is to be safer. I threw it in the trash and will be using my old one for the time being.

This can opener works great once you get the hang of it. But I've only had it for 4 months and I've probably used it 10 times, and it's already rusting on the internal cutter. Bummer.

Love this! Quiet (keeps my cat from thinking every can is for her), and seamless. Hope it lasts, will update.

The cutting of the can is so smooth and seamless that I wasn’t sure if it was opening until I lifted the lid just a bit and surprisingly it came right off. Put this item in your cart today, you’ll be glad you did. I love it!!

Took a minute to get the hang of using the opener. Works as a safe clean option for opening cans.

Worse purchase I’ve ever gotten on Amazon. Doesn’t work. I tried multiple times, had different people try as well. It will make a fine indented line, but the can would not open. Even after going around the lid multiple times, and banging it to try and pop the top. NOTHING. Don’t waste your time. Stick to a good old fashion opener.
