Great Budget Knife
My husband loves this thing. I am a long time fan of Kershaw knives and typically carry a Kershaw Leek. My husband is a knife connoisseur but is also notorious for losing knives so he's been through a bunch of them; both higher end and super budget, cheap knives. He was complaining about breaking his latest cheap knife so I searched Amazon for something more durable yet still budget friendly and stumbled upon this one. It's a decent knife, especially considering the price point! This knife is not small so pay attention to the dimensions when buying. While I like the knife I would not personally carry this one as an EDC knife because it's too large for me. Women's pockets are stupid small and even if they weren't, the size of this one is just too big for me. However, it's perfect for my husband! He is impressed with the weight of the knife and he loves the spring assist. This is the first knife he's had with that feature and now he's wondering how he's never had a knife with it. I've been trying to tell him for years how nice it is but you know, husbands lol. He's been carrying the knife for a couple of months now and it's holding up really well. He's a carpenter by trade so while he has all the fancy tools he will often pull his knife out to cut, pry, poke, prod or whatever he needs at the moment. In the past he's broken knife tips off, dulled the heck out of them, lost them and even had the whole thing just fall apart in his hand. This Kershaw is showing no signs of wear, is still holding a good blade edge and is holding its own against my knife maiming husband where many had already met their doom. Despite exposure to copious amounts of sawdust and debris the spring assist is still operating smoothly and the pocket clip is tight enough that the knife is secure in his pocket and doesn't fall out randomly. Overall we're both impressed with the durability and quality of it especially for the price point. I'd have bought one for myself if it were just a little smaller.

Perfect EDC Knife - Reliable and Versatile
I’ve been carrying the Kershaw Starter 1301BW as my everyday pocket knife for a while now, and it’s become an essential part of my daily gear. The edge retention on this knife is impressive - it keeps a nice, sharp edge even with regular use. Whether I’m opening packages, cutting cord, or tackling other daily tasks, it performs consistently well. One feature I particularly appreciate is how handy it is for opening beer bottles. It’s become my go-to bottle opener, and the knife handles it without any issues. For the price point, the Kershaw Starter delivers excellent value. It’s reliable, well-made, and perfectly suited for everyday carry. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a dependable pocket knife that won’t break the bank.

Handsome sturdy knife.
Handsome sturdy knife. Sharp. Like the knife, but too heavy and big for me to edc. Though designed in USA, manufactured in China. Kershaw makes great knives, but I don't like the China connection.

Great everyday knife
I ditched my "hardware store" folding knife for this model because my old one never stayed sharp. This knife arrived razor sharp! The styling is incredibly nice, although while opening boxes I'm not trying to impress anyone. The knife sits low in my pocket with the clip design, but does _not_ have adjustable positions as advertised; as I'm right handed, this wasn't an issue. Although my last, cheap knife used the off-patent Kershaw assisted open (AO) spring bar, this knife opens just as fast without it, especially from the flipper. I prefer thumb stud deployment, and this knife is barely slower than an AO version from the stud. I took off one star because the knife is HEAVY. Not a big deal with denim jeans, but it's very noticeable with slacks. The bottom line is you can't beat the quality, styling and sharpness for the money. I highly recommend the Kershaw Starter! UPDATE to 5 stars: After nine months with this knife I've changed my review to five stars. Ok, it's heavy, but for the money and considering the other positive aspects of the knife, it's a five! The lock is still tight after hundreds of AO "deployments" to open envelopes, boxes, really anything needing a sharp blade. Did I say sharp? It cuts like day one, and the worn look of the body and blade continues to impress me.

For the value received this knife is excellent! At less than $20 this knife is a great purchase. This knife is a very solid, well-made knife. This knife comes rather sharp in the package; I have owned this knife for several months and no additional sharpening has been needed for EDC purposes (opening packages, etc.). A couple of things to note: it is a rather heavy knife but with a good belt you'll be fine for EDC. The design in the picture is slightly misleading to the appearance of the actual knife (the ridges are not that pronounced). The pocket clip is really nice and causes the knife to ride low in your pocket. The Speed-Safe opening system is really nice and functional; however, this knife needs some use before the action starts loosening up to a comfortable level, and the thumb-stud is not particularly functional (no problem, use the flipper instead). The finish is very nice and durable. The knife fits well in my (admittedly large) hands. Hopefully this helps you make an informed buying decision. Overall, I really like this knife, and I would have no problem recommending it to friends and strangers alike. Have a good day.

Best budget knife in the market
This is my favorite budget knife ever. Of course Im not comparing it to a more expensive ones but it beats the $50 range of knifes for sure. In my opinion if you like a foldable knife that is snappy when you unfold it with one flip and is very sturdy when unfolded, then this is it. I love it bc it has some weight to it. I don't know what material it's made off but it is surprisingly heavy but I trust this knife not to break or fold back when I apply force to it. I even bought two since I losty first one. As most knifes it can always use a sharpening

Optik, Verarbeitung, Haptik, Schärfe, Handling: alles Top, insbes. um den Preis. Kann ich nur empfehlen.

The knife's construction seems to be quite solid and the blade sharp out of the box. Even taking into account reviews that said the knife was too heavy, I was not prepared for how heavy it is. It's way to heavy for every day carry, so not a good option for me. If you are going to keep it on your workbench, you'll probably be happy with it.
