Is this the best running injury book ever?
A truly enlightening book for runners of all abilities.Jay Dicharry unpicks running injury myths and delivers straight-talking advice that is easily to follow. The work-out sections are easy to folllow and are useful whether you have your own equipment or use a commercial gym. This book is now the basis of my strength routines for running and I’ve started following Jay’s various podcasts where he talks more about the tactics and routines he mentions in the book.I’ve had both editions of this book and this second edition is an improvement in that it simplifies the routines.Ever runner should have this book in the arsenal.

wish I had this knowledge when I started running
I have read advanced marathoning, finding my way, listened to 100s of hours of training podcasts and audiobook of endure by Alex Hutchinson and how bad do you want it by matt Fitzgerald. I also have a reasonably good knowledge of anatomy and run 60-100km a week. I was hesitant to buy the book as I heard about it on a podcast and thought the author had given away pretty much the whole book during that and maybe there wouldn't be much in it for me. however I was wrong and still gained a lot from reading the book. you can test your mobility at home for any issues, will learn the proper running form, will learn how to exercise properly to supplement running performance by strengthening many aspects of your anatomy, both muscle and connective tissues. a lot of the latter part of the book focuses on the exercises recommended to improve running performance with good pictures, a lot of these only need very simple equipment for running focused compound exercises and dynamic movements, plyometrics etc. I just think that at the price of one private trainer session, and in comparison to a physio consultation down the line, this book is worth the cost. I would still say the cost is quite high for the length of the book; the author is succinct though, and there is value in that. quite evidence based too. importantly, he explains the relevance of doing the workouts and therefore they becomes a lot more appealing. it isn't a running training guide but it supplements those like Daniels/Advanced Marathoning etc.

needs a fair bit of equipment (or a gym)
great exercises, well written and I like the overall approach, but there is a lot in there that I cant do if I'm not in a gym

Great read for any improving distance runner
Great read very insightful and pitched at the right level, not too basic yet not too technical. Since following the workouts for about 3months I've dropped minutes off my PB's on all of my distances. As a distance runner I've always stayed clear of weight training (Bad advice years ago that has stuck), but this book has reiterated the importance and I have felt the improvement in my performance as well as my little aches, niggles and pains have vastly reduced. Would highly recommend. Only thing that could be better is that the descriptions for some of the exercises could be better, but a bit of YouTubeing normally fixes that.

Take your running to a higher level.
Great book. The first one I have read that focuses on technique and not just strength. The author explains exactly why you should do the provided exercises, which personally makes me much more likely to do them. Given how difficult they were at first, it's clear I was a bit lacking in stability in certain areas, but they do get much easier once you get the muscle memory. I've been following the suggestions for around 6 weeks and feel quite different when I run and walk. It's also good for general posture.

best running book I have read
This explains the mechanics of running so clearly and then gives you a series of exercises you can do to address your own imbalances. Very clear with good diagrams and photos. The best book to read if you want to understand running technique better.

Better than visiting my physio and costs less!
I started running about 9 months ago and have been suffering with pain in both my knees for about 6 months (but I don't wanna quit running!) This book has more help and information than all the searches I've done on the net and all the trips to the physio combined. Amazing amount of information to help figure it all out. So glad I finally got round to buying it!!

Poor quality
I bought the updated edition. The first edition was glossy and had colour photography. The new edition is printed on poor quality paper and looks like it has been photocopied at low resolution.I'm sure the content from Jay Dicharry will be great, as usual, but presentation is very poor and isn't worth the cost
