It will not sharpen unless it's a very dull pencil. You have to twist left (opposite) and push down for it to start to work. It will stop sharpening when the pencil is sharpened enough.

Good design. Purchased for my grand daughter. She loved the gift. I wish the stickers be better quality. Perfect for student.

Nearly every pencil I sharpen with this, the lead immediately breaks when I use it. I don't have this problem with my manual sharpener, but this one has ruined several pencils. Not only that, the leads often break while sharpening and get stuck in the blade, so that several times while using it, I have to take it apart and dig out the broken lead. Absolute total waste of money.

This pencil sharpener is very cute, but it is not a strong enough motor to actually sharpen the pencils. You can use it like a manual sharpener, though and it catches all the shavings. My daughter enjoyed the stickers it came with as well.

My 6 yr old daughter asked fir a pencil sharpener for Xmas. She draws and colors all the time so I seen this one which is scoop cute an it comes with stickers and the cutest little erasers a tiny notepad and extra blades.... she loves it. Also you can plug it in or use batteries which is awesome.. but it spins when it sharpens so it's kinda hard to hold it in there an some pencils it don't sharpen other then that it's a great product.. the pencils that work in it sharpen great but I'm not sure yet if I should keep it or return it .

Excellent portable sharpener. My little loves to draw and color and I love the containment of this.

This is a very poor quality product, it does not have the power to sharpen a pencil. Is cute but bad. Don't waste your time buying this.
