Illustrated Stories from Around The World (Illustrated Story Collections)

A lovely selection of stories which are a little bit different to the usual fairy tales. The book is a bit smaller than expected (A5 size) but it has a lovely padded cover and beautiful illustrations which catch the child's attention. The stories are short with a couple of lines on each page so ideal for reading to a small child and for the child to start reading themselves when they are old enough.

First at all - it's not a big A4 book as I imagined. It's a small but fat book. That was a little disappointment but insignificant. Except that the book is great. 10 stories - a good selection from around the world (India, Greece, Russia, England etc). My kids (5 and 6 year old) are loving it. Easy language, beautiful pictures and not too much text - just what you need for a bed time story. Recommended.

Lovely book, design and how easy the stories are to read.

My daughter has enjoyed reading this book. She is seven years old and carry some it around everyone. Lovely tales all around the world. We went recently to see the magic fish play and she said she knew the story as she read the story in the book. Amazing!

Great stories, great illustrations on each page and not too much text. Sometimes male character heavy, as with most children's books.

This is a gift and from the looks of it looks like a good bedtime story book. I have bought for my own child a usbourne book in the past and they are pricey from Waterston so this is a bargain.

This is one of our favourite (together with the Illustrated Fairy Tales from Usborne).

I bought several of the Usborne books with collections of various stories, and they really are wonderful. Some have more illustrations, others fewer. But all are beautiful. The simple and yet engaging way they retell these great stories is also perfect for younger kids. Mine is 5.5, but these would easily have worked a year ago and they can be read for several years to come. They use not so simple language but perfect for first/early readers at the same time. So I cannot say enough about how good and on point they are.

Lots of nice illustrations. Very engaging for my three year-old, who will come to understand the stories even more as he grows. We also own Usborne Illustrated Aesop Fables and Fairy Tales. This has more illustrations that Aesop, and shorter, less complicated stories than the Illustrated Fairy Tales book. All are great.
