most effective product for cold sore i have ever used. had a very large , inflamed cold sore, applied this overnight and it was relieved, draining and healing the next morning. It scabbed over and peeled within one more day. the cream burns at first but then is soothing. also moisturizes.

Campho Phenique has been around for a very long time. I remember my mother using it on us as kids for cuts and scrapes. Years ago, I got a fever blister on my lip and purchased some at a local pharmacy. But it did not work nearly as fast as this little tube. I thought maybe the formula had changed with the previous Campho , maybe it was more diluted. I am not sure. But it took longer than usual to work, so I just quit stocking it in my home medicine kit. I then got a blister on my lip just a few days before buying this little tube. So frustrated because I also had what appeared to be perioral dermatitis. Which takes a good long time to go away. It looked like three little warts by the side of my mouth that regardless of what remedies I used, would not go away. I thought about visiting the dermatologist but knew I would eventually find something remedial on my own. I did know Tea Tree showed promise, and I did have some, but it was not healing them, just drying them out but they remained. Fast forward when the fever blister appeared, I went straight to Amazon and saw the thousands of reviews for this tube of Campho Phenique. The price was ridiculously cheap so I put my faith in the Campho once more. Day one after arriving. The fever blister by the end of the day was drying and fast. By end of day two, it was gone. Oh, there was still an area of darkness where it was, but that too would disappear by day 4. NOT ONLY THAT, but the little wart like, perioral lesions were also going away. They didnt just dry up and scab. They seemed to shrink, then dry a bit, then disappear and I had those for at least 3 months prior. I believe the Aloe in this tube of Campho Phenique is a great bonus. The lesions dont just dry out but are also softened by the aloe so your healing looks and feels so much better. This is necessary in your home medical kit to have when you need it. Truly a powerhouse

As someone who has a sulfate sensitivity I've used good old Campho Phenique liquid for bug bites and scrapes for most of my 70+ years. It helps relieve and clear cold sores.. I wouldn't use it on my mouth, it is strong, but any area around the nose.
