My 2010 1.8l Corolla’s A/C was intermittently cooling, but more often then not is was just blowing hot air. Gas charge was good so I looked at the clutch. That’s when I found out that there is no clutch. The compressor runs all the time and this control solenoid adjusts when the compressor does its job. My original must have partially failed but this part fixed it. Downside is I had to get the R-134a evacuated by a shop before I could do this repair. Sure wish Toyota just kept using the clutch so I could repair it without touching the charge. I can’t vouch for how long this part will last but I’m just glad I got cooling again.

Installed 2011 Camry . Make sure you verify your compressor before buying any flow valve. I ordered another type after watching many YouTube videos and unfortunately it was the incorrect one. This one worked perfectly
