this shredder is a fabulous buy for the money. shreds your documents with authority. the first 2 days i had it, i powered thru 35 years of tax documents. ate everything, the same as shredders costing twice as much. ideally, as the description says, you can shred 6 pages as a time. i put more sometimes, up to 8 at a time. the machine will shed them but very slowly. but staples and all go through. after a while, i got to test the overheat protection feature. after going well over that 6 page recommended load, the motor gets hot. yeah, hot to the touch. the overheat light comes on and the shredder shuts down. i made a cocktail, sat in my old man chair for 15 minutes, then went back to shredding. as long as i stayed 6-7 pages i was good. this portable shredder is a perfect size. the sliding bar can be pulled out and the little machine will fit most any household trash bin. try to set it on a 35 gallon trash can, no way. i didn't need to pull out the sizer bar, the machine just fit on top of my kitchen bin. when done, it's small enough to fit in a kitchen drawer until next time. so far, i couldn't be happier with this purchase. works as advertised at a nice price point.

This inexpensive (about $32) BONSAI STRIPCUT SHREDDER really does destroy CDs efficiently. I had about 200 very old CDROMs and DVD-Rs containing backups that I could no longer read, because my current PC doesn't even have a CD drive. This little gem cuts them into three wide strips (see photo of center strip), which isn't sufficient shredding if you're a cryptocurrency billionaire, but is enough for an average household. I make my scraps a bit more secure by mixing them with unpleasant stuff in the household trash. The shredder easily handled a dozen discs at a stretch, fed one at a time, without overheating. I spaced out my sessions because I've broken a lot of shredders by working them too long and hard. In fact, I've dulled the blades of a powerful crosscut shredder by feeding too many CDs, so that it no longer shreds them at all. This little gem solved my disposal problem, when it was out of the question to try to cut up so many discs by hand.

Handy item, works efficiently.Took one star off because the switches are a teentsy bit tricky. Not a problem unless you have, say, injury or arthritis. Otherwise good value, helpful, especially for an author with lots of "inspirational notes" on post-it notes everywhere!!! Uni directional.

Amazing paper shredder! Easy to use & compact - Recommend

I’m liking this paper shredder just fine. I wanted something inexpensive and compact. Just throw it onto your waste bin (it adjusts to widths), turn on and it will shred up to 5 or 6 sheets, but I just put in about 3. It has many buttons for other functions if you get it clogged or need to reverse. It shreds plastic credit cards and supposedly CDs although I don’t need to shred any CDs. It’s not super loud, but any shredder is going to make noise. I love the fact you can just put it away on a shelf when not using and handy to reach for to do some shredding. I don’t miss taking my papers to the bank or UPS to shred. And I didn’t want to spend $80 to $100 on those larger ones that have attached bins. There are maintenance sheets you can buy too when you need to treat/oil the metal parts in it. Overall a nice little shredder if you don’t have humongous amounts to shred. It shreds in straight strips (not cross shreds), but that’s no issue with me. You can make a lot of confetti if you like or use the paper strips to fill boxes or Easter baskets, etc. I was going to buy the small hand-cranked shredder for half the price, but I truly think I wouldn’t have liked it as the reviews and comments posted the issues with it. Recommend this shredder.

Nice product for the money. Be gentle with it, don't shred too thick!! It does over heat easily!! It's a little loud, I've had quieter shredders. It's a nice shredder for junk mail and bills you no longer need. It's easy to unjam, the blades are definitely sharp! Nice bin size, it holds a Kroger, Home Depot plastic bag size worth of shredding. It has a nice modern look. It works well, I'm happy with it.

Nice little shredder, but overheats very quickly and gets very hot. It will shut down when too hot. My kiddo and I were shredding lots of old documents and had to keep taking breaks while it cooled off. It is not meant for high volume. It does the job, but wish I would have bought a little bigger one. The CD option worked and crushed into 4 pieces.

Really good slim compact shredder. Small batch shredding is incredibly easy, fast and effective. Does the job. Happy buyer.

The seller was very quick and kindly refunded my money when it was discovered the shredder wasn't designed for Australian 240V AC power. Due to their good service, I would definitely purchase another product from them.
