Single Gang Ethernet CAT7 Wall Plate Female to Female - 1 Port Shielded Network CAT 7 RJ45 Keystone Jack Outlet Wallplate for CAT8/CAT7/CAT6 Cables - White

It started out rough as this plate basically acts as a CAT RJ45 to CAT RJ45 adapter. The previous wall plate used a different connection which I had to sever the cable and re attach an RJ45. I wanted to replace this because my old ethernet cable would come loose with a slight tug, disconnecting me from the internet. After learning how to install an RJ45 plug, this worked flawlessly. The cable connections are much more secure, and I was also able to get rid of an outdated coax connector on my old plate. Much cleaner look now.

Well made product. Works great

I was trying to install them upside-down, so they would never go -- I was at the edge of returning them. I let them sit for a few days, project on back burner, and tried again, thinking I must be in error. Turning a plug upside-down and using significant force it finally clicked into place, flush on the front as expected. Ok, so all the dual-plug CAT7 or higher (shielded, basically) outlet covers I've found have silver plugs visible. As does this one. White to match the outlet plate would be better, but not found -- yet, give it time. At the price, ~$13US, it doesn't come with an outlet adapter (so it will fit directly onto an existing power-outlet box.) Others at this price level come with the adapter and one is shown here, but they do spec that it doesn't come with it -- uh, why not? I found 2 for 10 and 5 for 10, so I bought 5. More plastic, more dead dinosaurs, more microplastics to eat and breath...not coming with the necessary adapter lowers the ease of use and reduces the value for the money.

Jack is completely enclosed in metal. Using with Cat 8 and it works well. Easy to install and attach.

Have been using it for a year with 100 mbs speed internet just fine.

I had to really shove the actual jack into the plate opening. This put a hairline crack in the plate. I've now seen other reviews mentioning this. Not going to return it because it will be hidden and I need the project to be done, but this is not good. At least it functions, so 3 stars for that.
