Great clarity and premium quality
The Alienware AW2724DM 27" QHD 180Hz monitor has done an amazing job. The picture quality is excellent at 1440p, and the colors have good detail. It does offer really good smoothness when gaming or working on lecture task. Motion is captured without any issues involving ghosting and the overclock works perfect without stress. Brightness levels are much stronger than expected for a QHD panel, and HDR support actually adds something to the system. Build quality is pretty classic for Alienware, clean, modern, and well built. The stand is sturdy and adjusts easily. I have one horizontal and one portrait. Con: the speaker volume leaves a little more to hope for but given my set up, I'm usually wearing headphones, so this is not really an issue for me. Great build overall and definitely left my brother jealous.

Greatest 1440p nowadays!
For the current price point, if offers a significant specs and performance. This is my second purchase, the monitor is flawless. Brilliant colours, stunning performance and response rate. The so called downside of poor backlight and contrast (blacks appears grays in HDR) can easily be compensated by playing around settings and colours from monitor menu/companion app/GPU app. 200-250$ is a dream price compared to alternatives. Be careful with new model (AW2725DM) since it is not an upgrade, but falls short in many aspects. Build quality is perfect and design top notch!

A Top-notch Gaming Monitor
Have had this monitor for about two weeks now and here are what I like about it. Super smooth gameplay: The 180Hz refresh rate and 1ms response time make for an incredibly smooth gaming experience. I play a lot a FPS and this monitor and keep up! Gorgeous visuals: The QHD resolution and IPS panel produce stunning visuals with sharp details and vibrant colors. I was particularly impressed by the color accuracy, which is perfect for both gaming and creative work. Adaptive sync: The AW2724DM supports both AMD FreeSync Premium Pro; NVIDIA G-SYNC, and VESA which means that you can use this the PS5 and enable Variable Refresh Rate at 2k resolution. Comfortable design: The ergonomic stand allows you to adjust the tilt, swivel, and height of the monitor to find the perfect viewing position. The stand is also very sturdy, so there's no need to worry about the monitor wobbling. Stylish design: The AW2724DM has a sleek and stylish design that will look great on any gaming desk. The AlienFX lighting adds a touch of personality and can be customized to your liking. Haven’t come across any negatives so far as the panel tested perfect and no dead pixels. Overall, I'm very impressed with the Dell Alienware AW2724DM. It's a great gaming monitor that offers excellent performance, stunning visuals, and a comfortable design. If you're looking for a gaming monitor that will take your gaming experience to the next level, the AW2724DM is definitely worth it.

Worth 6 stars...the BEST 27" monitor under $350
Apparently there is a new line of Alienware monitors that will be released next month, and there are now DEEP discounts on this fantastic monitor-which can be had for under $200. Wal-Mart is selling the same monitor for close to $350-and it is worth every penny of that price-but at under $200, this is as close to a steal as you are going to get. The display is bright and very sharp. Important to me is that the stand is very adjustable allowing easy swivel and tilt-in addition to raising the height. Other monitors have fixed heights which may preclude them from being used in tight spaces-such as mine, as can be seen in the picture. The only 'downside' is that at native resolution (2560x1440) the icons and font size shrinks compared to a 24 inch monitor with a lower resolution. This is easily fixed in settings, but at the same time it is nice to be able to have panoramic views of wide spreadsheets etc.

Great monitor but not speakers or audio output
I am very happy with the picture quality and frame rate sync on this monitor. I bought it for my kid's game room pc and it works great paired with a 4060ti. One big drawback to be aware of is that this monitor has no built in speakers but more importantly it has no 3.5 or optical audio out port. This is big drawback if you want to use the monitor with a game console which sends the audio only over HDMI. You will need to use an audio extractor that will strip the gsync.

Budget Friendly
I really enjoy this monitor. Got it today and it’s super amazing for the ps5. If you’re looking for simple gaming with nice fps get this one. It’s budget friendly and yeah I know it’s not OLED but still it was worth every penny.

Dead pixel and Non Existent Customer Support
After reading all the other reviews I knew I'd have a high chance to have a dead pixel or some other defect. Unfortunately I was right and my monitor has a bad pixel.. I bought 2 of these for prime day, the other monitor seems fine. Also HDR seems borderline unusable as a graphic designer since it desaturates all colors Edit 7/24/2024: Alienware doesn't have any customer support through Amazon so your only real option is to deal with Amazon customer support. I contacted them due to the defective monitor with a dead pixel and they told me to "just get a refund and purchase the monitor again." Which means I'll have to pay the difference of the prime day discount I received. I was able to convince them to imitate a replacement which was supposed to arrive 2 days ago after initiating the replacement 5 days ago. The date I'm supposed to get the monitor changed twice and now if I don't get it by tomorrow they'll "refund" my replacement whatever that means. I knew Alienware products were extremely risky due to the defective issues bad QA but didn't think it'd be this bad. There's a Samsung alternative to this monitor that's also cheaper for the same specs. Don't get any of these monitors unless you want to do a run around with refunds, replacements, defective products. Edit 7/31/2024: My replacement monitor never arrived and decided not to do a return as I've been seeing a lot of people having issues with the refunds. As I spend more time with these 2 monitors I've been noticing more issues, both monitors constantly flicker which can get pretty nauseating. The monitors have a very inconsistent color range too. I honestly regret getting these 2 monitors and will never purchase from Alienware again and will be the last time I purchase something expensive through Amazon. Edit 1/15/2026: The flickering I was experiencing went away on its own, I'm not sure how or what I did to fix the issue but luckily it's not a problem anymore. However the dead pixel is still an issue, no one from Dell / Alienware / Amazon Support helped me with this specific issue and at this point I learned to subconciously ignore that very bright tiny green dot on my screen. HDR is absolutely pointless if you are designing as it changes the color tones drastically and the blacks appear as extremely dark grey and causes some weird fading / artifacting defect when the blacks blend to a lighter color. I do use these monitors for gaming but switching HDR on and off constantly is too much of a hassle to be worth it. I got a 30$ dual monitor mount from TikTok and these fit on the mount perfectly despite their heavier weight. I have these mounts stacked horizontally top to bottom and can't see myself ever going with a different mounting set up. Having up to 8 seperate windows open at once and all visible at the same time, is a godsend. With that all being said and done, I still would never buy these monitors at full price and would never trust Alienware nor Dell to help with any issues or defects from their products.

Best 27” QHD IPS monitor at this price point
This is a newer model, and because of that I can’t speak for its longevity, but I am hoping with the Dell/Alienware brand behind it, that it will last a very long time. It was ultimately down to this monitor and the LG 27GP850-b. That monitor is probably the most popular gaming monitor at this price point, and it was between that, and the new AW2724dm, which this review is for. In my opinion, this new Alienware takes the crown from the LG. It was released a few months ago, and you get more for your money. Both are very similar, the two biggest differences is that this monitor has certified HDR600, whereas the LG has only HDR400, which is very lackluster, and personally I wouldn’t even consider using it while gaming. The HDR600 definitely makes things look better in all the games I play, and gets rid of IPS darkness in games like COD, which you will have without HDR activated. The HDR600 does not make games look washed out like the LG does with HDR400. For movies, HDR600 is not the best on paper, but I only use it for games, so I am not going to give an opinion on that. The one thing the LG has that this monitor does not, is BFI, which is suppose to help with motion blur. For an IPS panel, the Alienware already has near perfect motion blur, better than the LG according to most reviews. Also BFI is a feature in gaming that I find useless, because you cannot have VRR(gsync/freesync) on at the same time as BFI. VRR is essential because it will cut down input lag by half in some cases, when compared to using Vsync. In every game I’ve played, the VRR is like having Vsync completely off(way less input lag), with all of the benefits of having it on(no screen tearing). This monitor also has very accurate colors out of the box, according to every review I read. Unless you do professional work, you will not have to mess with the colors. Simply set the color profile to “colorspace”. Every other color profile is very “cool”, with a bluish tint out of the box, including the one that is set by default, so be sure to change this right away. You don’t really have to worry about this in HDR mode, all of the profiles look fine, just while in SDR. Before buying this monitor, a few reviews mentioned fuzzy text, which made me very hesitant, however with amazons return policy I went ahead with the purchase. I am glad I did, I have not seen clearer text on any other 1440p monitor. Both the black and grey uniformity are also near perfect for an IPS monitor, and no noticble IPS glow at all. Maybe I just got really lucky in the “panel lottery”, but I am beyond happy with this monitor.
