I have used a Launch diagnostic scan tool in the past and I own a Creader elite for my Land Rover that has been a great help with diagnosing its many modules. I upgraded to the CRP919EBT because my mobile repair side-hustle business has grown and I needed an affordable scan tool that had compatibility with more manufacturers than the code reader I had. This scan tool is amazing! I have the ability to scan pretty much all systems for every car that I come across now. The bi-directional features are on par with other scanners that cost far more than this one. Also, the renewal for updates is affordable for the DIY-er and technicians that side-hustle like myself. The wireless DLC that comes with this tool makes it so convenient when scanning modules and you need to be under the hood to see things. The ability to search trouble codes online on the tool is another great feature. The build quality is great and it comes in a great case for protection and storage. I would highly recommend this scan tool for advanced do-it-yourself-ers and professional technicians alike that need the ability to delve deeper into vehicle systems than a generic code reader.

Background- ford senior master technician, in the industry for 20 years. I wanted an additional backup, and already have the x431 pro v 4.0+. I wanted something almost as capable, smaller but still great for all makes and models, and that’s where this CRP919 comes in. Excellent little scantool, very easy to set up. If you’re new to Launch, create an account for free with a user name and password, pair VCI and you’re good to go. You can put in user name, shop address, shop phone number and email, and it saves it to all reports. Very nice for customers. I wanted to note here- this scantool feels beefy. The case is thick, with extra padding on the corners and raised sections to protect the screen. It feels even more rugged than my other one, and I’m SUPER happy with how it feels. Connecting is quick. Connect VCI to the vehicles DLC, hit intelligent diagnose and you’re off. Pulls VIN, decodes everything for you. Takes maybe 10 seconds to connect and decode, very quick. Takes maybe 30 seconds to scan all modules. Yes, if there’s a module that’s communicating, it will pull codes from it. This one pulled RCM codes from my truck no problem. I went in to check data logger, and see it’s the same as other Launch scantools. Value, graph, data, they’re all there. You can display 8 graphs, and combine 4 of them. Data speed performance is fast, no noticeable lagging. The scantool also has power balance and relative compression for my truck, which is awesome in a scanner in this price range. Completely shocked by that, and super impressed. Support is spot on with these Launch scantools. Seller is quick to respond to questions and help with setup if necessary, be it simple settings or tech support. If you need support in any way, they’re there to help. Scantool comes with an automatic 2 years of updates. Updates are downloaded via WiFi, easy as clicking the update section, update all, and ok. This is a global scantool, so there will be updates you might not need or use, I download ‘em anyways. Mine showed error on two of them, reclicking them downloaded them no problem. Scantool is fast, covers a ton of vehicles, is in depth, has great support, portable and easy to use. 10/10 Launch, excellent job

I bought the LAUNCH X431 CRP919EBT Elite OBD2 Scanner believing it was a genuine U.S.-supported product. The tool initially worked great, but after a short time, the screen started flickering with fading lines that come and go. I reached out to Launch Tech USA for support, but they informed me that my serial number is not manufactured for the North American market, and they cannot service, repair, or update it. Launch USA confirmed that Amazon and third-party sellers often list overseas versions that they do not support, so if something goes wrong, you are completely on your own. They advised me to contact an overseas email address for help, which was not reassuring at all. For such an expensive purchase (about $428 USD), this experience has been very disappointing. There is no warranty coverage, no service options in the U.S., and no accountability from the seller. Buyers beware: make sure you purchase from an authorized U.S. Launch dealer if you want proper support, updates, or repairs.

Powerful scan tool feature proof it supports, not only traditional protocols older vehicles, but also newer vehicles new systems that are coming out like CANFD and other new protocols and it has advanced ECU coding it is a full system scanner as well scan the entire system everything motor transmission, body control, module whatever your car has. It will scan the entire system. Unlike other cheap scanners out there launch is premium and powerful advance and easy to use. It also has immobilizer which I programmed the key amazingly very easy save so much money instead of paying a locksmith hundreds of dollars I did it myself and It has most popular special function, resets, and action test as well by directional support so I’m able to check and activate radiator fans I can roll down the windows from the scanner. I can unlock and unlock the car with the scanner. I can check the blinker lights, the brake lights. I can check everything related to the body control module like the instrument cluster I can activate the transmission solenoids as well I can see if they are functioning and run test with the ABS as well. I can run test with the ABS brakes transmission motor you name it. This scanner is amazing. I originally bought the X tool D7 and was extremely disappointed, and then I found the launch 919 elite hardwire then I got the Bluetooth version and I am extremely satisfied with my purchase. You won’t regret it. This is incredible value for your money once you have a scanner you’ll understand.

I purchased this tool/scanner to be able to read dtc's and do bi-directional functions on my 2021 Jeep gladiator. It connected fine to the ECU and was able to read the vin and do a simple health report. Had a code in the BCM for the third brake light not functioning. In order to use bi-directional functions you need to have a basic subscription to Auto-Athourity to get past the security gateway. I signed up for the $50 a year. Once your registered when you want to use the special functions in your scan tool you will log in through your scan tool( you will have to have a wifi connection) to unlock the security gateway. Note: when you register on Auto Authority and are adding the scan tool in "tools" do not add the letter characters at the end of the serial number. It will no recognize the tool you are using. Only put in the numbers of the serial number. Once I figured that out the scan tool unlocked the security gate way and I had all special functions. I used the scan tool on a 2014 Hyundai Elantra and had no problem using special functions. No subscription required. The speed of the scan tool was very good at reading the vin, modules and actuating tests. For the money I was very happy with the tool. Setting up the scan tool in the beginning was pretty straight forward. You will have to do updates but just follow the prompts. The screen is bright and easy to read and the user interface was easy to read and understand.

Its a good product. The description is somewhat on point. It just has limitations with the year make and model of my personal vehicle. I bought this for my personal use for my vehicle which is a BMW.

I was needing to replace an older scanner with a newer one with more features and capabilities. This one came highly recommended and purchased it during a black Friday sale recently. The battery life is great and the scanner body feels very robust. The features and capabilities are the same as scanners costing much more. Today, while visiting my daughter, I was able to use the scanner and program a new key for her 2013 Honda Odyssey van. Saved her $100 quoted by the dealer to program key. I highly recommend this scanner.
